Front runner for Calder next year.
behind puljuarvi and my personal favourite moose head in hischier for next seasons calder. Think he's in the top 3 but at 3rd just ahead of patrick and keller who are tied for 4th as front runners for Calder . Connor is gonna be a good player, has some great tools and should have the ability to deliver 30 goals on day. 70+ pts isn't out of the question in his prime. I would predict a 25-25 season next year as a rookie for him.

Not Calder eligible.

Next year's crop doesn't have much excitement to it. Main players will most likely be Patrick, Connor, Hischier, PLD, Meier, and Clayton Keller. Personally, I'll be a bit surprised if any of them have a better season than whoever finishes 5th in Calder voting this year. Weak draft class and last years draft was very top heavy, but not much to love past the consensus top 5 (although, I've always like Keller).

Meier isn't eligible either.

Any insight on who's going to win the cup this year so that I can make some money betting against my friends?

I agree, Connor looks destined to play in the Jets top 9. Probably with Little and Wheeler. If he does and there is chemistry, I can see a 25 goal season. Wheeler is a good playmaker and I could see them doing well together. But chemistry is not always as apparent on the ice as it is written on paper. But I can see some there.

For the others Hischier will be interesting, as is Strome, Barzal, Chabot, Patrick, Keller, Jost, Dubois. Going to be another good year to watch rookies.

I think Pulju, Connor, Keller and Chabot are my favourite for Calder next year.

Not convinced Patrick or Hischier will put up big numbers right away.

Thanks for the update. How's his defensive game coming along?

It's been much better. He's generally in good position in his own end and has gotten pretty good anticipating what the opposition is going to do. He's good at picking off passes etc.

Think there's any chance he passes Roslovic in points or reaches PPG before the end of the season? Believe he's sitting at 34 in 41.

Well he's only 1 point back of Roslovic for the team lead while playing 12 less games. I think it's fair to say he's likely to pass him barring getting called up.

Hes on a complete tear lately

Yup. He's also playing with a couple of traditionally low-scoring line-mates, too. It's not uncommon for young players to take a bit of time to adjust to the AHL, and it's not an easy league to score in, especially on a very low-scoring team. Once he hit his stride he just took off and has been on fire.

Lipon and Cormier, right? Any reason why he is playing with scrubs? I'd like to see him and Roslovic on a line together.

I don't think we have a line without scrubs on our AHL team. Connor and Roslovic are the two leading scorers on the team. Roslovic went to world juniors, Connor was with the Jets for 30 games.

If The Moose miss the playoffs, which is likely. I can see Connor being called up in Apr. For the Jets final 3 games in the regular season. On the merit of this play, he deserves the bonus games. He will also retain his rookie status for next year. Having played in 22 games if this is the case.

Another couple goals tonight. 13 in his last 12 games. Not bad. He may become a decent top six forward in the next few years.

Oh man. He's been ridiculous lately, I think he gets the call next season and never looks back.

He's a natural goal scorer. I knew it was only a matter of time before we started seeing the kid that lit up U of M last year.

Going to put modest goals(double meaning there) for him next year. He just has too much skill, a nose for the net to not become a 30 goal scorer in the NHL. For his rookie year, if healthy. I would not be surprised if he scores 25.

I am hoping we see him as a Apr call up. It will still keep him under the 25 games to qualify as a rookie next year.
