what a polarizing prospect.

Since 2005/06 amongst U18 forwards to play in the Liiga, he ranks 16th (min 30 games) in PPG during that time frame surrounded by names like Kupari, Hirvonen, Kapanen which seems pretty underwhelming but then you look at how his international track record stacks up using the same time frame (2005/06 - present)

- World Cup - 2nd in U18 PPG behind Laine
- International play - 2nd in U18 PPG behind Laine

on top of the dominant performances at the Hlinka tournament and the Olympics.

Such a hard player to get a good read on haha
It just isnt that hard to identify if you actually watch him play. But many posters on here can only relly on stats, so its not shocking he is polarizing on HF. He isnt for professionals.

Based on what the MTL media is saying, it's starting to sound like he's our pick.
As a sens fan this makes me sad.

Sources ?

«S'il est repêché par les Canadiens, je vais être surpris, a indiqué Renaud Lavoie à La Dose. Ce gars-là n'a pas répondu aux attentes.

«Si les Canadiens repêchent Shane Wright, je serai content pour le kid, mais je serais très surpris. Je pense que je tomberais en bas de ma chaise.»

He basically says that he'd fall out of his chair if MTL drafts Wright.

Can’t see Habs takimg him even if he is “better” than Wright or Cooley.
I thnk Slaf will be , but for now Slaf is not so much better that it’s worth drafting a winger over the C in Wright and Cooley.

It's probably not gonna happen, but I still hope he plays in Liiga next season. If Kiviharju makes TPS's team, it would be cool to see him play with Slafkovsky. Also I think Slafkovsky would just add entertainment value to the whole league.

Slafkovsky isn't going to be entertaining if they make him play the same static game as last season. He's a player that needs to be moving at speed rovering around the ice. I hope he either goes to a different team or league, or they let him play his way and build systems around him.

in the video above he got this question

"You are who you are as a player right now, who do you think you can be in 4-5 years?"

His answer?
"A better version of myself"

Slaf why are you making me fall in love with you when the Habs can take you away from me?

I still think this is all a show for NJ to get them to cough up an asset for the right to switch picks and take Slaf first. Everyone wins in that scenario.
