Wright’s fall to four is further indication that not only were those of us not convinced he was a #1 pick not Habs haters but we may have been under-selling the concerns on Wright that NHL talent evaluators had and that were really stunningly brought to light in the Black Book. He’s still an excellent prospect but I really think in 5 years the top of this draft is gonna be all over the place.

As for the Habs - you’ll need to be patient and learn from past developmental mistakes but as I said all along, you seem to have leadership in place now willing to think outside the box. Which - won’t always be perfect but at the end of the day is a good thing. Slaf could be a beauty in time.

I imagine the fact that two other teams not named Montreal passed on him and that he wasn’t even the top center selected will help lube the medicine in time.

Habs fan here, still very worried they have put too much emphasis on short tournaments… then again, it’s obvious there’s a lot of potential there.

I’m very worried he’s a Kappo Kakko, Magnus Svensson Paajarvi etc where they can really look like all stars for a few games but watching for longer period of times you start to understand they don’t have the offensive instincts to score regularly.

Still, I’ll root for the guy of course.
