Incredible play tonight... he gets more dangerous with every game!

Just made a ridiculous backcheck, got them out of a pickle, and raced the entire length of the ice making everyone else look like they were standing still.

nice assist on Wideman's goal, goes into the corner outworks the defenseman and makes the simple play to the post.

The kid was all over the ice tonight.

That backcheck and breakout that he walked around the entire Ducks team was amazing. Also please lots more of him and Granlund in 4 on 4 overtime. They completely dominated the Ducks.

It's too bad that he didn't get a goal in OT (attempted wrap around), but he was one of the best players out there tonight.

Had a hipcheck tonight, leading to a goal for the Flames and an assist for JG. :D

I know this is sorta supposed to be a joke, but it's pretty damn impressive how he manages to body guys off like that with such a small frame. Obviously not a big hitter, but he uses what size he has damn well.

Well, don't forget that size isn't everything. He's a smaller player but it also means he has a lower centre of gravity and as long as he has the leg / lower core strength to sustain him, he can still out-leverage a lot of bigger-bodied players for just long enough so he can make the pass and create a play.

I missed OT. Anyone have any highlights or gifs from Granlund and Gaudreau's magic I keep hearing about?

In all honesty, it's probably not as spectacular as you're picturing in your head

That said, that one play where Gaudreau came out of nowhere on the backcheck to intercept a dangerous looking pass off the rush and then immediately turn the play up ice for a dangerous rush going the other way was pretty special, not a lot of guys can do those things.

That was a huge play on that assist he had. He's got like 13 pts now in his past 14 gp. The scary thing is he could very easily have a handful more with some of the passes he's been making. That tuck pass he made to Hudler out in front against Ottawa was a great example. Don't know how that one wasn't finished.

Anyways, good to see Johnny continuing to embarrass the posters who labelled him nothing more than a 1 dimensional power play specialist.

Wait until he plays big western conference defensemen, he will never be able to do that.

But.... 30-40 points is his ceiling.

Until he does it in the playoffs, it doesn't matter!

And it's just weak teams he's putting up points against!

And wait till he gets hit! All it takes is one!

He's toooooooo smalllll!

I'm so enjoying seeing JG do well. It's real nice to see how those dumb comments are changing into even dumber comments lol
