Who do you think he'd have more chemistry with?
Nylander and JVR or Marner and Stamkos?

Lol I sense some jealousy. Sucks for Nashville fans but Vesey will soon be on his way to Toronto or Boston. Not sure how playing under Babcock, one of the best coaches in the NHL, would ruin his career. Also helps that his father is employed by the Leafs.

Because the Leafs will blow for eternity, that's how.

Sympathy for Preds fans - they've got every right to be pissed off.

That said, he had every legal right to do what he did - so I do t necessarily think that means he has poor character. Sports seem to be the only industry in the world when people get angry at others for not wanting to work for their employer anymore.

On the bright side for the Preds they've got a fantastic team, and should be looking forward to the playoffs. As a Leafs fan, all I've got is the draft consolation prize for yet another terrible season.

Honestly, people who thought he was still going to sign in Nashville after coming all this way were delusional, even Poile himself. If Poile was smart,he'd try to trade his rights to Toronto for whatever he can get just to salvage the failure and atleast get a 6th/7th for him

Why would he sign in Toronto?
Yes his dad works for Toronto, but dosen´t he scout east coast USA?
If he really likes to be with his dad and close, he should really sign with Boston or something else on the east coast?

Vesey can choose between playing for his hometown team 2 miles from the rink he grew up playing in with his best friend Matt Grzelcyk or where his father is employed. (His dad lives 15 minutes from the Bruins rink and practice facility)

Follow your heart or where your dad works

He will be playing in Toronto as a visitor:laugh:

Love the Leafs though great optimism from Stamkos to Matthews

I pretty much drive by the Vesey house on the way to work and as a 30+ year season ticket holder I'd put the Vesey's drive to the garden as 20 minutes tops. His dad is an area scout and I believe is also about 20 minutes from the Garden.

I'll be surprised if he signs with Toronto.

Didn't have to lie to Poile about planning to sign before the trade deadline. Screwed the Press a bit. Also, lying to a fine NHL GM is a slimy move. Father should know better.

Looks like Jimmy is Hogtown bound from everything I'm reading.

My heart goes out to Nashville fans, this is a tough one.

I'd personally choose Nashville over Toronto every time; love the Music City!

As a Bruins fan who frequents the college hockey rinks that dot the Boston area, including the Bright-Landry Center, I also feel for the Preds fans. After all, Vesey can jump right in with playoff-bound Nashville and burn a year of entry level deal(correct me if I'm wrong). There are certainly worse places to play than Nashville, for which I saw great reviews following the All-Star weekend.

Oh I sure it will be, since his relatives are in the organization

awwww lemmme guess there bwaston

if he signs there, the kid was just exercising his right to go where he wants

but if it's Canada that wins gawd forbid

well that tampering?

It'll probably be investigated for tampering if he signs with toronto

Right, because if he signs in Boston, the kid is just exercising his right to do so

Why in the world would an American ever chose a Canadian team over a American team

have i got the propaganda right?

Or...it might just be because he has a relative that plays for Toronto and have nothing to do with Canada vs America?

Inferiority complex much?

If the league didn't investigate the Reilly to the Wild situation, where his dad is a minority owner, they aren't investigating this. You need to chill over the whole Canadian thing

Me too. His dad's connection to Toronto is being overstated IMO. It's not like Vesey Jr. and Sr. would be sharing a place in Toronto -- for the reasons you stated. Senior probably only gets to Toronto twice a year for scouts' meetings. Junior's ties to Boston and the Bruins are life-long.

aw brother in truth i am chill

just having a little bit of fun here and just trying to point out some of the hypocrisy i am seeing here

The rumors are it's down to 2 teams, right?

and all i see is screaming about Toronto and tampering and not a word about Boston

if you ask me the inferiority complex is really coming from those accusing tampering

i mean hey, he goes to Boston, he is just exercising his rights

but if he ends up in Toronto, well that has to be tampering, because i mean, well there is no rational free will reason to do so.
