Not sure why the sens passed on this guy, similar type of player but infinitely more skilled than Boucher.
He had 2 assists last night but they took one away later on unfortunately. Among Rangers draft picks in their D+1 (age 18) season in the OHL/OMJHL, he ranks 3rd when adjusting for scoring era.

Do you just literally take average goals in 2021 and divide it by average goals in a given year to adjust it or look at the team's production? Either way seems like a very simplistic way to do it.
What’s this guys ceiling for NHL comparable? Brady Tkachuk-lite?
Could the Othmann snub by Team Canada be pay back for the Rangers not allowing Lafreniere to play in the WJC last season?

Not at all lol. Lafreniere was a 1OA pick getting ready for training camp during last years tournament. As above, COVID complicated things, but Canada is also ridiculously deep, so Othmann not being on their team wasn't going to keep Hockey Canada up at night.Could the Othmann snub by Team Canada be pay back for the Rangers not allowing Lafreniere to play in the WJC last season?
No. What team has let the #1 overall pick play in the WJC when the player is already playing in the NHL?
He compares himself to Kyle Connor. He's probably a little below that in terms of ceiling but stylistically it's the one player he tries to emulate.
He wasn't already playing though the NHL season started after the WJC ended last year.

Just a "little" below?
D+1 seasons:At the same time in their careers, they're pretty even.
No. What team has let the #1 overall pick play in the WJC when the player is already playing in the NHL?
D+1 seasons:
Kyle Connor (NCAA): 38 GP - 71 points (1.87 points/game)
Brennan Othmann (OHL): 23 GP - 36 points (1.57 points/game)
Connor was definitely ahead. He scored higher in a more difficult league.
No different than all the NCAA guys, and all the guys playing on American teams in the WHL, not sure that was an issue. They just never invited Othmann for whatever reason. No, that's not the reason. HockeyCanada didn't interview ANY of the US based OHL players. Their inability to cross the border complicated things.
With the OHL cancelled last season, there was limited time to scout OHL players anyway, not like the WHL where they played in 1 location in Canada (even the US teams).
It's just an unfortunate set of circumstances for the players in Flint, Saginaw and Erie.
"Some people" in hockey are also horrible people themselves, so I'm not sure I really give two shits about opinions of random, unnamed individuals who don't like the way he carries himself. The list of highly talented guys that have had the cocky, arrogant, spoiled, etc. labels attached to them is huge and usually meaningless in the end.Scott Wheeler mentioned today that some people within hockey don’t like how he carries himself.
I wonder if it's similar how Torts don't likes how Zegras plays. In that case there's nothing to worry about, but I really don't know the situation with OthmanScott Wheeler mentioned today that some people within hockey don’t like how he carries himself.
