i dunno....Dunham wasnt awful for us his first few years from my memory..it was later when he sucked.

Weekes, to me, was always awful. Vally...ugh.

Really this is without a doubt the best 1-2 tandem we've had in my lifetime....better than Healy with Richter. I wasnt really a Ranger fan when they had Beezer with Richter...I was alive..but i wasnt into hockey....was a football and baseball guy back then.

Dunham only played two seasons with the Rangers. His first year, I thought he was fine... and the numbers bear it out. 43 games, 2.29 GAA, .924 SV%. His second year, he was awful. 57 games, 3.03 GAA, 0.896 SV%. Of course, that 03-04 team was significantly worse than the 02-03 team. (4 games under .500 compared to 13 games under .500 and Trottier was a coaching genius compared to that era Sather)

Weekes wasn't part of the Dark Ages. He also only was here for a year, when he lost the starting job to Henrik.

Another bad outing for Lundqvist who is clearly not a good playoff performer, particularly in Montreal.

This is not even funny any longer, at least not from a Stanley Cup point of view, Lundqvist is great but he can't score goals. Rangers will loose this series if not improving, Canadians outplayed them most of the game, they impressed me and they should be really, really angry now.

Goalies can steal a couple of games but stealing a series or even a Stanley Cup is extremely rare and difficult. Rangers have to play better if they want to reach the finals and MUCH better if aiming for a Cup win.

If Lundqvist gets human again next game and Rangers loose I'm sure a lot of people will blame him again.

News: Hockey isn't a one person game even if Lundqvist sometimes makes it looks like it.

If I were a Canadian I would feel pretty hopeful about next game. Therrien will probably say something like "You guys played absolutely fantastic, if you play like this the rest of the series I promise you will turn this around, just keep shooting.".

Lundqvist is my current favorit hockey player in the world, of course I'm enjoying this, especially as a Swede and having New York as one of my favorit cities in the world, but we have to stay realistic.

In the NHL we only have one team that the majority of all players in the world would like to play for and that is the New York Rangers.

^What? Not sure if taking the sarcasm combo joke too far or....
The Rangers have dominated the majority of this series. Rangers could easily have the 2-0 series lead if lundqvist was "human" He'd have to play borderline brodeur garbage to give up a game.

looks like i didnt post in that thread but i was down with this team for quite a bit this season mostly early.

it started real quick too, i had issues with AV not trimming his roster down quicker to get some games in with the whole roster.

new team = much harder to transition = start in the preseason, dont wait till the last minute.

that was a BIG mistake imho.

but the last 1/2 of the season AV, and the team as a whole, have been terrific.

I don't think anyone was happy with the start...but it's obvious in the interviews I've seen lately with AV that his goal from the day he signed on the dotted line was to get to 4 lines he could roll consistently, and it appears he was ready to sacrifice some games early in the season for longer term success.

I still think Leetch is the best but hanks certainly making a strong case for it. If he keeps this up for the next few years he could take number 1. He realistically could hit 500 wins

Leetch was great also

Hank getting revenge on Canada

We very well could be watching the best ranger of all time right now

Normally I don't go in for this type of hyperbole, but we could be down 2-0 in this series if it were not for Hank.

If he carries this through this round and into the next round, and is able to put the team on it's back for four victories in the Finals against either the Blackhawks or the Kings, this could be a very fair statement.

The Blackhawks looking like a dreamteam out there.

Do you believe in Santa Claus? It simply won't happen, Rangers have to improve dramatically to win the cup. Hockey is a team game, I'm sure Lundqvist will do his part, loosing when being outplayed doesn't make him a bad goalie.

Winning games while being outplayed won't happen on a regular basis, not even with Lundqvist in the net.

I fully expect the Canadians to win next game and then we have a series.

Just not sure Talbot would have given up 8 goals in game 1.
