One of, if not his single best playoff game in his career thus far.

remain here. 4 save frenzy in the 3rd was nuts.

One poster said that the saves were actually not very difficult, so some of the slower ones remain here, trying to cloak themselves in "objectivity", even though they have often demonstrated a bias against the Rangers goaltender.

One day Henke will be gone, and we'll be stuck with the 2020 version of Mike Dunham or Kevin Weekes or ****ing Vitali Yeremeyev. Maybe then people will realize what they had with Lundy?

Because of posts like these. You might recognize them.

"Scoring coming alive tonight but Reboundqvist rears his ugly head. 5-4 PIT."

"The Rangers don't have a chance when they are led by Wickets Reboundqvist. "

"Actually Lundqvist is the embarrassment. Please keep him in."

"THIS Lundqvist is about as luxurious as a Kraft Mac-n-cheese dinner. Just roll pucks at him from the redline as watch how nicely he directs the puck in to the slot. The upside is he has a very good record when the Rangers score 4 goals."

"Talbot is well rested. It's not too late."

"Lundqvist is done and scared. And here we thought Emery couldnt go side to side."

Thanks for posting some of my best work. Reboundqvist is total gold. I can't argue with his game 7's. But then again I can't argue with just about the entire Rangers team in Game 7 records.

But see what's it created? Let's hope I am not back here 10 days having to defend Girardi and McD from not being able to clear double digit rebounds in the slot.

You answered your own question as to why some of us have gotten disgusted.

Despite your claims of too many rebounds, it is difficult to argue with the notion that Hank has been the best goalie so far in these playoffs.

It'd be gold if gold was worth nothing.

Lundqvist has had some rebound control issues. But it is a minor issue. It hasn't burned him much.

It seems like the majority of Pitt's goals came on wide open shots, breakaways and weird bounces.

Every goalie has rebound control issues. They happen.

What killed Hank this year was the snap shots from the top of the left face off circle, going in high above his right shoulder. It felt like deja-vu every time. Like in video game hockey where you can exploit the game by finding an unstoppable angle and you can score at will. He also "feel down" a lot this year...those were his issues. Bigger issues than his rebound control. Knock on wood it hasn't been a problem in the playoffs and Hank has been lights out.

Also I think way too big of a deal is made about the hank bashers. If there's 500 posters here at any given time, 1 or 2 of them are true bashers. Just put them on ignore...done. I also wouldn't equate criticism of Hank at points this year as bashing.

I agree.

Blows my mind every day people don't appreciate the best goalie in the world.

It varies. Not every goalie has the same level of control. It varies as an individual skill and can oscillate depending on the current comfort level of the goalie. They have drills specifically for rebound control and some goalies go through the drills more than others, even at higher levels.

Anyway, Lundqvist usually gobbles them up or sends them to the corner. More than usual they are bouncing out around the slot. Not much more, but it has been noticeable.

It obviously hasn't affected his ability to keep the puck out of the net, so personally I could care less.

I have no problem with posters criticizing Hank. As i mentioned in earlier post, no one is above that. (although Hank is pretty close to be just that given his proven consistency) What drives me and a lot of other fans nuts is the idiots who you never see until Rangers lose and then they pop up from under their bridges only to stir **** up. And trust me there have been more than just a few this past season. We dont need that kind of crap here.

You are something else :shakehead

Hank's rebound control has been about as perfect as it gets so far. And if he does let up a rebound, there's support on front of the net.

Team so stingy

it's difficult to argue Lundqvist's effectiveness, and importance, in the Rangers' first two rounds. His focus in round two was the best I have ever seen. His mechanics seemed pretty stellar also and he just always knew where to be to make sure the puck did not go into the net. This doesn't take away from the shot blocking in front of him, which at times can create issues as those pucks do fly around, and it's not to take away from the efforts to stymie Crosby, but his play was the difference maker in the series and if he continues to play like this for the next round, it would be criminal if the Rangers do not make it to the finals. NOTE: not predicting the Rangers will make it to the finals...

Apology accepted. We all make mistakes...

THere should be some accountability for what people say. Otherwise what is the point of the message board and even having a name next to the posts?

Accountability on HF boards? You're kidding right? I bumped this old thread:
http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=1514131

to call out those spineless "fans" who were writing the craziest crap at the beginning of the year, and mods closed it. The administration here doesn't want people being called out which is why you see so much garbage written when teams hit a losing streak

I don't get the talk about rebound control. Lundqvist is the best in the league at preventing those. His only weakness is stickhandling, and even that has improved leaps and bounds. He is to put it lightly, the best goalie this franchise has ever had.

He's so good any time he lets one in it's a soft goal. lol

looks like i didnt post in that thread but i was down with this team for quite a bit this season mostly early.

it started real quick too, i had issues with AV not trimming his roster down quicker to get some games in with the whole roster.

new team = much harder to transition = start in the preseason, dont wait till the last minute.

that was a BIG mistake imho.

but the last 1/2 of the season AV, and the team as a whole, have been terrific.

This is so true. Everyone is spoiled now from his dominance. There are teens on this forum who have no memory of anything less than Lundqvist backstopping us, so they just assume that dominance is normal and anything short of that is failure.

lundqvist gets some unfair criticism because he is the rangers best player. the rangers don't have that #1 stud center that would normally take most of the heat so it falls on the goaltender if he is not absolutely perfect. it may suck sometimes, but that's life. if are paid and recognized to be the team's best player people will **** on you when things don't go well.

he did not have the most consistent regular season(he's set the bar pretty high for himself) and he's had a few "moments" in the playoffs.

But in a close series though, with the game on the line, you have to be out of your mind to not want him in net.
