I assumed earlier he coached the D and PK of the Habs, that's not so clear to judge because they lived and died by Price's health.

But they seemed to decently play young D like Romanov or mete every year which is a good sign and he maybe had impacts on Petry/Chariot/kulak

I will say, the best thing about Richardson is that he's a strong advocate for mental health and will certainly be very empathetic towards younger players or anyone struggling.

The culture is shifting in Chicago for the better.

I have no idea how he'll do as a head coach but I'm not surprised at all that they went with a guy with no NHL head coaching experience. I know everyone here hates/hated King, but whether it was him or Richardson/Huska/whoever, this team is going to be bad next year. I highly, highly doubt Richardson will be our coach 5 years from now. Anything can happen, he could really shine through and cut his teeth over the next couple seasons but IMO, no matter who they hired, that person was never going to be the long-term guy for when this team is competitive again.

At this point he should only be fired if we somehow play to a bubble spot when its Bedard or bust

Problem with King is how he acted. Dude was openly placing blame anywhere but himself when it came to their performance which should be a big no in any coach.

Unlike King, Richardson had been an NHL assistant/associate for a while and actually was a good coach in the minors while King had Rockford regressing hard during his tenure.
