That's what he is though. It's our faults for assuming we were getting some elite goal scorer. He's a pretty good second/third energy guy who shoots the puck a lot. He was never going to be a first line guy, we just all got excited because we made a move to improve the team for the first time in years.

I could be wrong, but I thought he was specifically acquired to play alongside Kopitar. Then again, they got Danault to ease Kopitar's minutes and defensive assignments and we see how that is working out...

The perception of Maatta around here is largely based on how he looked when he first got to LA. But since then he's been mostly serviceable.

He's in a contract year. If he wants another deal somewhere he knows he needs to perform. I'd expect him to be decent from here on out.
