The day has FINALLY arrived. May 8th: the draft lottery. Show starts 8 pm.

Only bottom 11 teams are in Bedard draft. Teams ranked 12-16 can only move up 10 spots.

The current standings:

Habs had 6 wins too many. All this for culture. Makes the difference between Bedard and … who… (they will passe on Michkov). What a depressing year.
We can all thank Gally, Pezzeta, RHP and Montembault for being on the outside of the consensus 4 and of course Bedard. All of which will be off the team by the next time we compete

I'm answering your question as to why those teams pass on him, nothing to do with the Habs

Fantilli and Carlsson I could see starting the season with Anaheim CLB
Not sure about that...but who knows. Definitely not a sure thing.

A seance.

Well the Mailloux situation might be the reason Molson would get involved now. of course if he did it would have already been decided whether Michkov is a Do Not Draft.
Molson was consulted when Mailloux was drafted. More of the same here.

Hawks also won the lottery in 2007.

It's the second time the Blackhawks have won the lottery in the past two decades, and the previous victory in 2007 netted them Patrick Kane, who helped them win the Stanley Cup three times between 2010 and 2015.

Chicago won the lottery came ahead of the 2007 NHL Draft. By winning, the Blackhawks moved from fifth to first in the pecking order, and selected Patrick Kane.

That pick has worked out just fine for Chicago, as Kane has since went on to star for the Blackhawks in more than 800 NHL games, scoring 312 goals and recording 516 assists. He's also been a major contributor in the post-season, tallying 50 goals and 73 assists in 127 Stanley Cup playoff games.

Chicago's odds of winning the lottery that year were 8.1%.

That’s why I was hoping some other team would get Bedard. These guys have been richly rewarded as it is.

No way we take Dvorsky with the 5th. It would be a fire worthy offence.

Dvorsky over Mitch Kov? Button is the same guy who claimed that Mitch’s comparable was none other than Valeri Kharlamov, arguably the best talent to ever come out of Russia/ USSR.

Give that up for Dvorsky? Might as well shop the pick and get more than Dvorsky.

We arent winning anything in the next 3 years so take Michkov and laugh all the way off the stage if they pass on him to take Dvorsky or Reinbacher I will Johnny Cage nut shot Kent Hughes
If it were only waiting for 3 years to take into consideration he would go 2nd for sure (unless his attitude is in question). It is the uncertainty due to the war that would drop him in the draft.
