Also again, considering the schedule, travel, and who we've been up against, I'm proud of what this squad is doing right now with lots of guys injured and banged up and top guys (Kopitar, what's going on man, Muzzin apparently has a traumatic brain injury) not performing. Hats off to Drew though, monster game for the most part.

I thought it was an outstanding game by Muzzin tonight. Broke up 3-4 rushes by himself. Now if he can do that every game, things would be a lot better.

Him and Martinez are still terrible at reading one another and a few of those rushes he broke up were self inflicted. No harm no foul I suppose, but we're seeing rookie Muzzin more than vet leader Muzzin.

I thought they were Martinez's mistakes but didn't go back and watch the play again. Mistakes happen. As long as they keep them at a minimum. Anyways, hopefully this is a game Muzzin can build some momentum off of.

We're not seeing either of those Muzzin's. I'd take rookie Muzzin over whatever he is this season.

He's the most interesting player for me this season. We know Brown, Gaborik is old, we've seen Kopitar fall into a slumber before. Doughty is up on the list, but nobody tops Muzzin for me. I would love to know what's going on there. He can barely skate half the time. Reaching for the puck too often. Forbort is outscoring him. Without a couple EN goals, he'd be tied with Gilbert.

One of the few ot where at times, they had to grind it out, ala Lewis carrying the puck off the rush into the corner, only to get out worked and give it right back to Lumbus. His brain is not wired for OT. I'll take the point, but man they did a great job at shooting the puck into his pads a lot tonight. Loved Carts and Doughty's effort, Kopitar on the other hand...:pullhair:

Kopitar had zero shots on goal.....

Lewis had four

Carter had SIX, SIX.

What the hell is Kopitar doing ? trying to sink the Kings single handed?

I guess that (C) is really heavy, also that 14 million dollar salary.

Take the point and run.

Get a ****ing goal from 30 million in salary?

Gotta say also, really like Strangis.

They've won 10 straight and we dominated that game.

I don't disagree with you but big picture here, the last two PGTs were woe-is-us the-sky-is-falling type stuff when we played like crap and won vs. the Pens. Now we play an awesome game start to finish and lose a coin flip. **** it.

Strangis is a natural, loved him there. We are spoiled this year, I thought this setup with multiple pxp guys would be nutty but it's been fun

The big picture is that we have a 14 million dollar center with 3 goals and the season is circling the drain. The small picture is looking for a moral victory in a single game, no matter who the opponent. Honestly everyone on this team with the exception of Carter and Forbort (and maybe Dowd) should've talking a long hard look in the mirror.

I would add Lewis/Brown to playing good. Both on decent pace to produce very good, in bottom six roles.

The season is far from circling the drain.
We're still in the 7th spot by points percentage, the only way to judge during the season, due to game differences.
And still in the running for being higher. All with our number 1 goalie out. Look at what that did for Montreal last year.

Sure things have gone wrong and at times very wrong. But come on.

Brown just needed to be moved away from Kopitar to rebound. Poor Lewis isn't so lucky. He's going to have to find a way to produce with Kopitar.

At least they played well and Budaj gave them a chance.

Oh yeah... why the **** was Lewis and Muzzin on the ice in OT? That's as bad as putting Greene out there. Come on Sutter.

If they win the head to head with Flames/Oilers they have a good shot. Lots depends on those games.

Columbus fan here. Muzzin made a few plays that really impressed me. Obviously Carter and Doughty were really good. You guys have another strong team that will probably close strong and go far.

The Kings totally outplayed the Jackets and Columbus got the breaks and stole one.

Good luck the rest of the way!

every player is under 10x magnification now that Quick is out. if Quick were healthy, people would be a lot more lenient with Kopi (IMO at least). now that the team is 'struggling' people are looking for players to blame the woes on. while I do think some of the Kopi criticism is warranted, I still think hes not 100% and not playing as bad as some people are making it out to be. EVERYONE on this team needs to play better save Carter. Doughty, Muzzin, Kopitar, Gaborik, the bottom 6, the defense, everyone.

the Kings have been trending in the right direction the last three games so lets hope they keep it rolling

His defense is still at an elite level. His Corsi #'s are still tops in the league and remain at elite levels. His PDO is low. Same PDO as in 2014-15 when he had 15 goals and his worst offensive #'s of his career. He's wearing a wrist brace so that wrist obviously isn't at 100%. At the end of the day though, he's going to have to figure it out if the Kings have any shot at making the playoffs and making any noise in them.

Shouldn't he be though? Shouldn't he be? How much does Quick even have to do with it? OR is it his brand new 10.5 million dollar contract which is drawing the added criticism?

Really lenient definition for 'circling the drain.'

And I'm pointing out the small picture because after the Pens game the common feeling around here was that this team is terrible and outgunned. Small picture was an okay narrative for some folks then, why is it not now, especially when the narrative from the CBJ game is the narrative for 90% of the season?
