Trade chips? I like both Van Gorp and Read (Read especially), but if trading them means landing a player who could have an immediate impact, then I'm okay with that. I'm sure teams would be much more interested in Van Gorp and Read than Van Bommel or Aboflan. Van Bommel and Aboflan have been solid on the 4th line, but I think there's no upward mobility there. Mark's phone won't be ringing for either of those two.
As for the D, Fagan might interest some rebuilding teams, but we wouldn't get much in return.

+

It looks like our draft cupboard includes. 2nd (2025) and 2 3rds (2025); 2 2nds (2026). Is that right? Certainly enough to bring in some added talent.

this what i posted in the Soo thread. and it's only my opinion haha but it's what i'd start at.

If hawery is off the table, Noah Reed would have to be on the table as he's your only 07 lol. but being a 10th rounder, it'd have to involve some picks as well. and if Gibby makes WJC, then that would add another pick or two. if Hawery was included, maybe less picks. I see Gibson as a Jorian Donovan type pickup. Great defensively, pretty good offensively with a cannon of a shot, but huge and very fast. plus he's a righty, which is a hot commodity.

i'd start at
- Read
- 2nd '25
- 2nd '26 NB
- 3rd '25 SAR
- 3rd '26 FLNT
- 4th '27 ERIE

If Hawery is on the table, i'd drop one of the 2nds, and the 4th.

that's what i'd ask for anyway
Done!

Maybe some teams would be more interested in Van Gorp....but i can't see the Soo being one of them. I'm sure they're looking for 08s or 07s than 06s. nothing against the kid, but that's just not the birth year the hounds are looking for....or SHOULD be looking for i should say. our window will be more 07/08 group.

No way Gibson coming here if that is the price. Shit we have won 19 games in a row without him. This team is gelled and playing as a team. You don’t want to screw that up. Complete ass kicking of Ottawa and if Owen Sound goalie doesn’t stand on his head it’s another blowout.

I’m with Neilli, not that I want to get rid of Read, but he was also a 10th round pick. We can hopefully find another “Read” in this year’s draft, or maybe. Gerber or Bidgood steps up.

If a 10th round rookie nets us a potential Team Canada World Junior defender and possibly the best defender in the OHL, I’m getting it done.

Like I’ve said. this is our last time to go for a Memorial Cup with this core, so we have to just finish it off properly getting one of the best defenders and win a Memorial Cup.

A lot of teams could beat Owen Sound and Ottawa without Andrew Gibson lol!

It’s teams like Oshawa, Barrie, Windsor, Saginaw etc that have great offenses is what we need Andrew Gibson for.

Wow what a collision I don’t think either one will be back for awhile.

Check looked clean to me.
Sue who used to lead the fan club started it before at Ice House. Memory serves me correctly Dino Ciccerelli wore it.
No.

As clean of a hockey hit you could ask for. Very unfortunate they both collided heads. Both may not return tonight.

No need to rush Cowan, he got his point and the team is leading handedly.

All good things must come to an end eventually. Oh well, hopefully the rest of the team can step up when the big guns are gone

Great game and it’s good to have a playoff type game for a lot of these players. It’s been awhile seem we had a team give us a test defensively. Also, shows us to keep our cool. Maybe this helps further the case to get Andrew Gibson.

We have a week to reset and and get the boys ready for a couple tough games against Windsor, Kitchener and Saginaw.

19 game win streak comes to an end. Take a bow, Knights, well done! 19 straight wins!!! A rare feat.
Gens deserve credit for overcoming a 3 goal deficit. Unable to 'gen'erate much at even strength in the opening period, Oshawa decides to start throwing the body....knocked Cowan out of the game, and then delivered two clean booming checks that shifted the momentum. The Knights took retaliatory penalties and Oshawa's PP took over. Sennecke with a highlight reel goal.

Turn back the clock...last year, Oshawa beat us at home, and we know how that ended. In any case, it was an important win for them after suffering a humiliating sweep in the OHL final.

But if i were you, i'd ask about a package deal that would be Gibson/Allard and take Julien or Sim. er...not Sim haha. not sure that'd go over well.

but you could one stop shop with the Hounds. Gibson and Allard would be a great add. also, just my opinion
good thing your not a scout!!! You cant value every player from what round they were drafted.
For instance Formenton was a 12 round pick he definitely had value your evaluation is flawed.
Read was going to go NCAA that's why he went round 10 if were being honest.

We played a good game but literally flatlined once Cowan was injured. Hopefully he is ok and we get our heads screwed on right.

Credit to them, I'm not going to finish this in a salty way.
Someone tell your announcer it's Beckett Sennecke not Bennett lol
