yes the defence was poor. The team tonight was young as well. However as an OA goalie, a few of those goals must be saved. Willmore was not good. All things can be true at once. Even if everyone comes back, including Halttunen, I think the Johnston trade was done in haste. He would fit in nicely on the second or third line. Apparently he had a good night for Sarnia…too early to tell but this trade may be one we want back.

There were positives in the game. Nichol played very well. Hawery showed great promise. The PP was sharp. The nerves of the 8 players making their OHL debut will subside. And in due time reinforcements will be arriving. The team will look very different in a couple of weeks. I, like many, don’t understand the Johnston trade. There will be some rough games for a week or two and then all will be fine.

Even a young team, it is so important to match intensity at the start of a game, had they done that, start the way they finished, there could have been one or two few goals by Flint and one or two more by London. We'd be looking at a completely different hockey game and score at the end. Really impressed with Logan Hawery, Noah Read(limited ice) and Caleb Mitchell, the future will live on in London town

A few goals by either team would have changed the final score at the end? Very insightful.

The new scoreboard did look good in game, but when they did full size video, it’s off centre and just looked weird. The in game production was a disaster lol. Transitions in pre game were all over the place, they messed up the anthems, hell even the banner raising felt awkward and it went up crooked lol. The whole night just felt off.

But, it’s just game 1 and they are missing half the regular team. Everyone Shake off the rust, from the team to the production crew and prepare for a great season.

I was really scratching my head at the amount of playing time Bidgood was getting. He did play well. In the first period alone he was double shifted played on the PP and PK and took regular shifts. He was on the PP and PK all night as well a regular shift. Unusual for a 7th round pick. on a different note the Bud (name for now) since they switched to cashless payments have now started to add HST to the prices that are shown on the price board ( very very small lettering at the bottom of screen) So saying you didn't raise your prices is a little scud, you are now making more profit as HST was included in the posted price. for instance a $14 draft in exhibition game the week before is now $15.82. How many people just tap and don't look LOL

having the us flag on the screen while Canadian version played was terrible. To top it off while US anthem was playing the choir was exiting. Stand still for both anthems and pay the respect intended

You know when they messed up by starting off with the Canadian anthem there had to be people scrambling to find a recording of the US anthem somewhere.

Knights screwed up by not letting the school know there was two anthems.. and you're right, the school messed up big by exiting during the US anthem

Posters on edmonton board have been mentioning SOR being given a 9 game trial. That wouldn't be good for London in a push for a championship point of view. No bonk, barkey, Dickinson, Cowan, and no SOR for an extended time might put a dent in londons championship aspirations. Will edmonton actually give him a 9 game trial? Not too sure, but they do like him alot

Was not impressed with really anyone at Friday's game. Spencer and Bidgood had first game jitters. Flint sooo dominated this game.

How? How does missing games early in the season hurt anything happening in April/May?

Holy hell... have you not watched this team over the last decade+?? They start slow, people like you complain, say the coach/management are washed up, demand major changes.. and then the team usually gets going in January.

If you're paying attention, they don't even play their typical game plan of quick break out passes, cross-passes, and long flip passes until after the new year. Everything early is up the side, dump and chase.

Just relax.

Not sure I understand? IF he gets a month in the show and returned it hurts the Knights come POs?
Unless your saying the 1st 4 aren't coming back at all.....we'll then it wouldn't matter how many games SOR stays in the show for......
It'll work itself out.

I’ve yet to see a team get swept out of the playoffs in October. It could theoretically affect their playoff seeding but they’re looking good for the 1 seed regardless and at the very worst if a lot goes wrong being a 3 seed.

Why is anyone surprised, Edmonton is a loaded team, O'Reilly will be back this season, had it been one of the bottom team picking him, he would have likely stick with that team this year. He is that talented, complete players like Mark Messier, Bod Gainey, Jordan Staal, Anthony Cirelli and a very few more, these kinds of players just don't come by every draft years. He'll stick with the Oilers next season, mark my word. London will be fine, young players will pick up the slack quicker than expected, that's all. Cheers

Wonder how Brzustewicz builds off his big game 1 (points wise) I’m sure scouts will be watching too. Now is his and Woolley’s time to shine with Dickinson and bonk out

Never would have thought I’d see Anthony cirellis name in the same sentence as mark messier but here we are
