London Knights 2024-25 Season Thread, Part I

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Posters on edmonton board have been mentioning SOR being given a 9 game trial. That wouldn't be good for London in a push for a championship point of view. No bonk, barkey, Dickinson, Cowan, and no SOR for an extended time might put a dent in londons championship aspirations. Will edmonton actually give him a 9 game trial? Most NHL teams 9 game mark lines up end of Oct. That would be 12 games for London. The team will be fine come playoff time but if they only win 6 of those 12 games then finishing top of the standings might be out of the question.

The new scoreboard did look good in game, but when they did full size video, it’s off centre and just looked weird. The in game production was a disaster lol. Transitions in pre game were all over the place, they messed up the anthems, hell even the banner raising felt awkward and it went up crooked lol. The whole night just felt off.

But, it’s just game 1 and they are missing half the regular team. Everyone Shake off the rust, from the team to the production crew and prepare for a great season.

First game jitters was had by all....learn and move forward. This team will come together nicely in time.

London is firing on all cylinders tonight, very impressed with Medvedev, he is the #1 and future of the team!

Bidgood is giving as well as he is taking and showing flashes of brilliance.

It’s a shame that the biggest hit of the game was friendly fire, let’s hope Arrowsmith is okay after his first OHL goal.

Clattenburg is a dickhead… definitely on the list of our “Checking” line

…..and OHL officiating is still a dumpster fire.

Are you mad about Johnson or something lol? Just pointed out he scored again like someone else pointed out he had 2G 1A last game

Think it’s pretty comical that the guy who had the 12th most points among the knights forwards last year goes to sarnia and puts up 3G 1A in 2 games. Shows how deep the knights were last year

Not mad about anything. It's irrelevant he's gone. Time to move on. There's 68 games in a season. Go celebrate with Sarnia

It’s totally relevant, guess some posters are taking the Johnston loss harder than others…he just wants to forget 🤣
Still say it was a short sighted trade. But doesn’t matter, Hunter will cure all 👍🏻

Medvedev has looked calm and collected. Looks like he will be No. 1. Keep in mind he had been groomed by the Knights and had many practices with the boys before his debut and it shows.

PS - Julien decided he wanted to slash the player instead of clear it over the blue line and leads to the second goal against the Knights smh

Agreed, based on preseason I think the writing was on the wall. But preseason means very little, but if Medvedev continues playing like he is tonight win or lose I think Willmore might even find himself out of the league unfortunately. Hopefully he can turn it around though!

Been saying this, it’s absolutely happening.
Julien’s value > Willmore
Leonard’s value > Willmore
Sim’s value > Willmore.
Last year Knights started 15-10, and then Sim came back….Knights would only lose 4 games in regulation the rest of the year.
Willmore is not worth the OA card.

He was not -4 last night by mistake...he played an extremely lazy game and it is continuing tonight. Luckily the kids have stepped up!

Just don’t come on the board and post things about about other teams.

Knights fans know he would be top 9 right now but no way Johnston is above Barkey, Cowan, Halttunen, Julien, O’Rielly, Sim, Nurmi and Nichol in the depth chart

I’d take him ahead of Nurmi, easily! Not saying I don’t like him but it looks like it’s going to take him a bit to get adjusted to the league. Johnstons productivity would absolutely have him getting top 9 Icetime.

Also, the post wasn’t “about other teams”, it’s about a former Knight. People do that all the time.

Nice bounce back win by the boys !! Medvedev looks very good! Van gorp and van bommel finally getting decent ice time and it's starting to show.
 
Big win! This team just took it to a veteran team that will be absolutely in the top half of the league and we still missing 7 elite players, let’s go!!!
