When practically every forward except two are not performing up to snuff, it’s hard to rationalize fixing it through trades. You’d have to give up far too many assets to fix the forward depth.
Nicholl shows more than most forwards on the team in my view. Like Cowan/Barkey, he goes into the corner fearlessly and comes out with pucks. He is primarily a playmaker and will need linemates to convert chances to maximize his potential. I’m waiting for Dale to pair him with O’Rielly/Haltunnen consistently so he can pass to a goal scorer.
The defence is good, but not really dynamic, which hampers the power play especially. It’s not creative enough to create dangerous shots. Bonk and Dickinson still don’t have the confidence/confidence to direct the power play. Cowan and Barkey more effective rush players as well.
