Team is looking alot more like a pretender than a contender at this moment. So inconsistent and no secondary scoring.

If there's any question as to why McCue needs to go we just witnessed why. Clean loss of a faceoff leads to a goal and then immediately takes a penalty. I'm sick of MM39. He should be on the next bus out of town.
Lockhart ?

It's that one line for the critics when they lose , isn't
Just like how we lost with only stranges and evangelista? You need more than 3 forwards scoring if you want to win. They haven't shown they have enough secondary scoring to do that

Should have done that before the Petes sent him to the Gens...
London was likely not prepared to pay the price. I am sure the Petes would have preferred to trade him out of the conference but Oshawa offered the most for him. If the Knights had offered the Petes a 3rd and 5th they could of likely had him.

Oshawa had room for an OA. London didn’t. I’d expect the Hunters would try to find landing spot for any OA that may have had to be moved out to bring in a Lockhart.

Did they have time to do that? Did they see Lockhart and upgrade on one of their current OA’s plus the 3rd and 5th? Did the Pete’s even pick up the phone to talk to the Knights? Did the Knights inquire about Lockhart or are they looking at other OA options?

Knights have a discipline issue.
Goaltending was solid for both clubs.
Johnston should get more ice. He generates more than a number of forwards who are showing nothing.
Shot blocking is good. D needs to make fewer mistakes with puck mgmt.
9-5-1. It’s a development league for players and officials. No need to get crazy. Just try to limit mistakes. Kitchener is a well coached club. Read London’s breakouts and PP easily.

Give them time, it takes a good part of the season to get a consistent team, after all it is a developmental team in progress playing in a developmental league. They are taking in kids when they arrive and turning them into young professional men when they leave 4-5 years later. Rotating players from 1/4 to 1/3 every year on average, it's always a work in progress each season. They have plenty of talent, they'll be fine

That’s what I’m saying. This is a business and we need to keep improving. If we have someone who is out for half the season in Mackinnon why not upgrade to a player who can actually help us right now!? How are the Rangers so good? This sucks! We should have been able to have a better record…. I don’t care if it’s the 3rd game in 3 there are no excuses for losing so much

I would not be shocked to see London move a bigger name D man for a forward. IMO Bonk and Dickinson are untouchable, but a couple of the others may not be back next year anyways. Knowing London has Fagan, Wooley, & Jenkin all in JR B playing very good. Ustinkov in Europe. Mackinnon possibly coming back soon. Might be the only way to get enough assets to noticeably improve the forward group.
Good post. It’s 15 games in so far and I would add that you generally know whether you have the goods or not. London probably doesn’t have it this season. If you can get creative and find an opportunity for a veteran or two to win with a contender, I could see that happening. But you would need good draft picks and/or a young forward with potential to drive a line in return. I like the London model, Vellucci/Whalers, DeBoer/Rangers, Kilrea/67’s model of never giving up on a season. However, there are four or five forwards on the roster today that arguably aren’t OHL players. You cannot contend in this league with that. Tweaking and practice is needed. And discipline. I thought I rewound 20 years and was watching Bois but it was just another northern guy. Lol!

Rangers have a solid team at every position and just got Mesar back.

Knights are weak on forward and have not played up to their potential defensively.

Remember that London tried to win last year with Diaco, Winterton and Humphrey deals. It generally takes 3-4 seasons before serious championship runs. There is very little in the cupboard after those trades and the Brzustewicz trade. Testa traded, Moore n/a.

Got no draft picks, and other teams can easily outbid us. Will be very difficult
You are correct. London only has two, 2nds and three, 3rds and four, 4ths. Plus they have no players drafted in the 1st that they are willing to trade. They probably have enough assets to make one trade for an elite player or two smaller trades for lesser talent. They could invested a good chunk of their assets in a defected player in September.

Don’t kid yourself. The Hunters have a way of getting things done. This is the team that traded family for the greater good. Henry B could be on the table at the deadline if it means it puts the Knights over the top.

Henry only cost the Knights two 2nds and a 3rd.
