Please dump that Neil Diamond song at home games!
YES!!! Do something uniquely London in that break. Or just skip right to the "Take Me Home Country Road" suitable time of the game and gets a bit of crowd engagement.

One other in game thing I've found pretty stupid but is done in many places is the " kiss cam " I mean I get the intent is innocent and fun but living in the era of hockey culture we are in and where we understand the importance of consent we do we pressure random people to kiss each other on camera??

You make a good point. It can be uncomfortable for people

Oh okay, on the scoresheet it looks like he got 2 minutes for the hit and then the match for something else. Can't call 2 penalties for 1 play, so he had to of done something else beyond the hit. I just didn't see anything.
Not sure I understand the call or how to have called that…wreckless endangerment?

They called a match for attempt to injure, which slamming someones head into the glass warrants. If that was the only penalty called, that would make sense. But the 2 minute minor also called for checking from behind, tells me he didn't get the match penalty for the hit, it was for something else he did, which is where my confusion comes in, because I didn't see him do anything else beyond the hit.

That after attacking a 5’6” 17 yr old a week earlier. I like McCue as a player a lot, but he can use a cooling down period imo.
Pretty sure the kid challenged McCue from the penalty box based on his gestures of how tall he is from McCue.

As for songs...I have never understood why they don't play London Calling. It's right there to over play

Therrien (NB) made a far from legal hit on (Barkey?) before puck arrived for positioning. McCue grabbed the smaller, younger player and started throwing before he was ready for the retribution.

It was Michael Simpson that kept the score low and allowed London to win the game in overtime not the defence. He stopped 40 of 42 shots he faced. He probably is the best goaltender in the league. It was not their best defensive night.
One player alone how ever good he may be does not win team games by himself. doesn't matter if there were 60 shots against there is a need for someone to score and prevent from scoring, and of course a master and his team behind the bench to direct it all.. Simpson did had an extremely great performance, that's expected of him, it is why the Knights went out and got him for, to stops pucks. The reminder of his team also got their jobs done, they did killed 9 penalties including a 5 minutes and a 1.56mi. of 3 on 5. and went and scores enough goals to win the 2 points. Very pleased with Simpson's performance and very please also (except for the 9 penalties) of the overall performance of the team as well. The Petes did show up and played very well for this game and could as easily won the 2 points if it wasn't for a strong Knights team in front of them..

Hey buddy ! If they player is playing the OHL, he's of age and of size. If he's going to dish out hits and dirty ones at that he must be ready at all time because someone is coming for him. Cheers

Just posted some post-game thoughts on the Petes board.
PPs 9 to 4 for the Petes as London was incredibly undisciplined prompting the benching of Leonard and Gazizov (unless Gaz was injured). So, the penalties were well-deserved. It's difficult to gain momentum or have much of a sustained attack when you're sitting in the box. E.g. 8 of the first 10 min of the 2nd period was spent SH. Both goalies were outstanding. Petes do well to take the point shot away, they get in the lanes and block those shot attempts. Cowan played well in his return from Leaf camp.
I guess one of my concerns heading into the season was whether our stacked defence would go to waste without any offensive support up front. Well, look what happened last night. When London was down late in the game, only one line (Barkey, Cowan, Haltunnen) saw action, not quite the balanced attack that we had last year where you could roll the lines and be confident that any one line could generate offence. Fortunately, the season is young and Mark will have ample time to bring in some scoring help...really, he has to. We've seen London teams in the past with ONE dynamic line (e.g. think Evangelista line in his last season with the Knights), and it doesn't translate into playoff success. It would be a kick in the nuts to have such great goaltending and defence only to be let down by 3/4 of our forward lines incapable of scoring. Are we going to remain a one line team?
Excellent post nelli27

We shouldn't forget as the season progress so will the comfort and the development of our young players, they will have improved and grown as members of the team as well by season's end. IMHO Cheers!

No disagreement here. Need 2-3 forwards. The D looks quite good! SO SO happy we have Simpson!

Julien, Crane, Gaz are all experience players and need to bring more offence. Especially Gaz who is taking up an import spot as a 19yr old

In Julien's case I wouldn't worry too much, he's been bitten at least four times by goal posts in his last 3 games, the chances are there. Also we do see from time to time players coming back from NHL camps with specific instructions to work on, this sometime takes time to settle into their plays, they'll be fine. As a fan I do miss Sim, he has got some grits and is very solid with lots of speed on skates playing his 19yr old season, he should help this team a great deal when he comes back. Cheers!

For those of you that are wondering what the knights have in the system. Here are some of there top picks, as well as players that are off to good starts. Will be interesting to see how many of these players get a look throughout the season.

**before people hit the panic button, I believe Moore started the season injured hence his lack of production**

Yes, Therrien should have known/I’m sure did know there would be retribution; but, he should be able to (see it coming). I’m quite sure McCue could make a point with guys that size and age without the element of surprise.
That’s two blind side attacks by McCue in a week; not cool.
