Carter Hicks, D, London Jr. Knights
One of my favourite defenders from this year’s draft class is Carter Hicks. Carter was the Captain of the London Jr. Knights who won the Alliance Hockey Championship. He is a 6’02 right handed defender who is a great skater, defends and puts up points. We know how valuable right-handed defenders are in hockey, and one that can skater and has size should be high on team’s draft boards. He is a smart defender who has a great shot and strong playmaking ability. He is not afraid to use his speed and skating abilities to break the puck out of his own end, or drive it to the net to generate scoring chances. He played lots of minutes in London, in many different situations, and I believe he has the potential to be special in the OHL.

Who is this years Dickinson /Brzustewicz? Cause we could potentially swoop in a get another 1st rounder to add to our lineup for some draft capital

Speed will make the difference, London had good practice against Flint, Kitchener is a very good team, you don't want to catch them on their good nights, but they too have a whole lot of problems against the speeds(both ways) London in 5 or 6

I think we need to bring the physicality. I think that will also give them trouble

Beckham Edwards, F, Detroit Little Caesars
Beckham has all of the tools to be a first round pick in this year’s OHL Draft. However, Beckham signed a tender with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL earlier this year. While we have seen an increased number of tenders signed/verbal CJHL commitments this year, I believe we could still see Beckham play in the OHL at some point, with the right OHL team. He has all the tools to be a great player in the OHL. He is an exciting skilled forward who knows how to put the puck in the net. In addition to scoring, Beckham has a strong hockey IQ and is a good skater, which should allow him to take on a more impactful role as he learns the OHL. While he took an unconventional route in his U16 season, playing in the US, he was still able to get lots of exposure playing for Little Caesars. We also got to see him play at the Youth Olympic Games with team Canada, with the best 2008 born players from across the country. I believe if the right team drafts Beckham, and is able to convince him to sign and play they will be getting a great talent at a slot much lower than he should be going.

Brock Otten didn't place Beckham in the top 20.
London boy may be a good one for the Knights.
He scored 60 Goals in 64 Games for Little Ceasars.

100% and I'd like to Ryder in place of Van Gorp. This may not be a popular opinion amongst a bunch of you but I like the physicality that line would bring.
I can live with Ryder for VG. I like VG and Nicholl but noticed they’ve had trouble even with technical plays in the defensive zone. Regardless, it’s a three line, five D game at this time of the year.

The Knights can't fall into their trap, that is exactly how they want the Knights to play. The good hard hit to separate the player from plays are great, it's the after the whistle that will be tough for the Knights, Kitchener are masters at getting in their opponent's heads, they, Kitchener, are best at it around the league.

They will try to throw London off their game plan with the extras, the Knights elites should keep cooler heads and concentrate on their finest and speed, let the Boultons & co. take care of the banging and the dancing. London can beat them with faster execution, they don't need to slow down a slower Kitchener team, like they did against Flint and will need to do against the Soo and/or Saginaw, they need to out play the Rangers on the ice, not in the sins box IMHO

Take with a grain of salt as this is the same person who has spread misinformation before:
Not sure Valentini would last till our pick, but from why I’ve read he’s a skilled forward. Actually both are so if they fall to us and we can work some LK magic that would be sweet! Just don’t want a William Moore situation again…. We need our 1st rounder

Not really posting from a London perspective but moreso an OHL perspective. Although it may become intertwined with London if players are trying to choose their OHL destination.

This is true. I agree it’s more just the players trying to NOT be certain places as opposed to selecting their destination

Exactly. Take the goggles off and look who throws the first and extra shot after the whistle. Kitchener is soft overall. 85% of the time the scrums are physically started by the Knights. Pugliese may chirp you, Andonovski may physically start something but that's been toned down to a huge degree by the staff as his importance is on the ice. Outside of that there isn't much bite in their game. If the Knights can be put on tilt by a few words and that constitutes "the extras", well that's just sad.
