For the upcoming draft the knights have a late 1st and two late 2nds I wonder who they’ll grab. What’s everyone’s opinion on Mark does he generally go BPA or positional need?
London only has one late 2nd (comp for Moore). They traded their own 2nd away. they also have Miss 3rd, but not their own.

With the amount of 16y.o. players they had performing well in Jr. B last year, I doubt they go after any extra early picks. better to save those for future years

According OHL page, London hold Oshawa's pick (#39) in the second plus their Moore pick at #42. Maybe it's wrong ! (?) Looks like the ranks are partly completed

Other places I've seen London only has the 1 2nd pick.
Sad, but I don't trust the OHL site and really, the OHL in general being in any way open n accurate. ( player cards, rules, picks, picking a new functional website n app, ....... ok I'll stop lol)
But hope it's true. I'm thinking they only got 1 2nd but would love to be wrong.

Looking back through trade history, it might actually be kingston that has the OSH 2 2024 pick, received from GUE in the Jake Murray trade last year.

I believe @Generalsupdates is still keeping this up to date but here is the draft pick database.
From what I can tell the OHL website is just showing where each teams picks would be had they not traded them

Good chance Mark Hunter will be named the next general manager of the columbus blue
jackets, so this may be mark hunter's last draft for the knights for a while.
I thought he was going to Edmonton? Hard to keep up with all these rumors. Personally I would love to see the Hunters in Columbus....that's my second favorite NHL team and honestly these two could help them out bigtime. But, do they want that? When Dale/Mark got Rick and Dylan behind the bench we all knew this was a move to carry the torch and see the family keep this franchise moving forward once they retire or move on. The Hunters have a good thing going on here in London.....but who knows as both have alot of tread left in the tires.

Let’s rack up a few more 2nds

Early 2nds
You don't do that without giving up some valuable assets.

We have seen in the past few years a change in strategy by Knight's brass given they rarely pick high (a good thing!) and teams in the OHL, including the Knights, are having more difficulty attacting talent from south of the border.

I like the way thay have trasitioned to place young players in the GOJHL (analogy what AHL is to NHL) and let these kids develop before bringing them up to the "O". They have always done this to a certain extent but more noticiable the past few years. THis has produced very good results for tthe Knights imo.

Excellent analogy BobHockey, the development of GOJHL players brought the Knights numerous quantity of quality seconds and thids draft picks, that brought them over the years high picks such as Victor Mete, Max Domi and Sam Dickinson

If many outside posters thought London has been getting it all, lookout for Brantford the next 3-4 years. They have a very good young team now, some great prospects developing in the B & A leagues, and a whole bunch of draft picks over-flowing their cupboards

Brantford and Ottawa seem to be the current standard for continuous success

I wouldn't want to take a risk with the first rounder unless there is a verbal commitment
I tend to agree, but, London has been burned a few times before with their #1 selections, I'd say many times. It's always a risk, even with verbal commitments for London, given their late first round draft position every year. Talent is very important for chosing, finding out what's in the young man's mind is as equaly of importance, players can commit without meaning it at that age.

Next year Gerber, Arrowsmith, Medvedev, Jenkin, and Fagan should all be joining the team next season. Anyone else?
From what I've seen Rene Van Bommel, Cohen Bidgood,& Finn Wilson should all get a look too. Also they might get Daniil Ustinkov to come from Switzerland.
That's 4 Fwd.'s, 3 D, & 2G (not including who ever they take from this years draft) that should probably be playing in the league next year.

14. Luca Blonda, D, Pittsburgh Penguins
After dealing a couple top defencemen in Jorian Donovan (Saginaw) and Noah Van Vliet (Sudbury) midway through the season, and with a couple more defencemen moving on in Daniil Sobolev (Aged out) and Tomas Hamara (Potential AHL), Brantford may be looking to retool some more of their defence. After trading Donovan in particular, the Bulldogs lost that number 1 top pairing defenceman who could move the puck up ice with a great deal of efficiency. This is where a hidden (but also not so hidden) gem playing for the Pittsburgh Pens Elite program slots right in, in Sault Ste. Marie product Luca Blonda. Blonda caught everyone's attention north of the border at the end of November when Pittsburgh came up to play in the Whitby Silver Stick. As Blonda showcased his elite skating, poise and patience, and high end offensive instincts. Since that time, Blonda has only continued to get better. Rounding out his game on the defensive side of the puck as well, he has maintained that offensive flare that grabs your attention while adding that attention to detail defensively in his own end being able to use his mobility, stick, and body to shut down opposing players' offence in his team's own zone. Building on those elements of growth in his game, Blonda has the special skills as a defenceman to be able to break the puck out with his feet as a primary puck carrier, as well as with strong first passes. While he certainly won’t be playing against the Calum Ritchie’s and Porter Martone’s of the OHL’s Eastern Conference right off the bat, Blonda projects as a top pairing defenceman, who down the line, will be able quarterback offensively while driving the breakout for his team.
