Dale will go down as 1 start as world Junior coach 1 win. Coached an under achieving Washington team (benched OV) and got them to second round of playoffs wanted him back for 2nd season but he preferred helping our juniors. And highest winning % of all junior team coach. A very hard to beat record.

I'd have to pick Mark, and my reasoning is this: Mark's job is to build/construct the team. It's the very foundation from which the players are selected,, that make up the team. Without players,, the coach is stymied, and there's only so much he can do, without talented personnel.. As fans, we've witnessed this during our most recent "rebuild season", when there was a lack of secondary scoring. The team had a full roster, but not an abundance of talent I liken it to a good chef trying to prepare a meal with very few proper ingredients.
If I had to pick one I'd also say Mark for everything you said. AND the year Dale went to coach Washington, they didn't miss a beat. Mark got them within one shot of winning the Memorial Cup in OT.

Dale was kind of forced into the head coaching job

When Dale and Mark purchased the Knights, Dale was the GM and Mark the head coach. Their roles reversed when Mark was suspended for one year by the league for sending a player on a roughing mission. If Mark was ahead of Dale, this alone should bring him down even to Dale's as Knight's co-owner builder/coach category, it's a tossup if you ask me

Outside observer here. But I’m picking Dale. There’s no questioning the contribution both make to the success in London, but there are a few warts with Mark’s scouting / drafting of high picks. Gone are the days of his “finds” later in the draft who “surprisingly” change their minds and choose to play in the OHL. Sure there’s the odd one, but he’s been reduced to playing on an evener (is that a word) playing field with his peers. He does have as many 1st or 2nd round “busts” as anyone.

Though credit where credit is due. Mark is almost always able to identify the bust and move the player for high return long before that player is recognized as a bust. There is that.

Another thought regarding my choice of Mark. During the Hunter tenure, the Knights have been quite successful. That means that in the Draft, their allotted position was closer to the bottom, than the top. Later round draft choices aren't usually where the "elite" level players are found. Yet somehow, Mark has found ways to get access to those higher round picks, either through astute trades, defected players , or free agents like .( Houser Parsons, Prust, Julien, Van Gorp etc. )This has kept the team supplied with talent, in spite of being relegated to low draft positions over the years.. The Knights have also benefitted in acquiring some "one and done" players from USA college programs...Meckler being one example. .His tenacity in scouting is legendary, and the results do speak to his success.

Was just reading the Hunters (and Basil McCrae) bought the London Knights and the Ice Gardens for 3.8 million in 2000. I think the Ice Puppies sold for 20 million (or 22?) a couple of years ago so what do we all think the London Knights are worth? Can we all say "shrewd investment" .......

And then sold the property n Ice House/Gardens. Such a great thing for the team, city n fans the Hunters stepped in to buy the LK franchise.

As far as Mark or Dale, just comes down to personal preference. They have both dabbled in the others "role" I've seen Dale at tournies scouting out of town when the Knights have a game that night. Think he has pushed for individual picks over the years and Mark has stepped onto the bench but also gives his 2 cents.
I'll just take the pair, and call it a synergistic relationship where they enhance the org more than either individual contribution might have. 1 plus 1 equals 3 in this case.
Ying n yang, Cagne n Lacey, Starkey n Hitch, Batman n Robin lol.......ok ok Batman crushes Robin

Hey Knights faithful !
The Attack Pak fan club is raffling off this beauty during the Knights visit this Saturday, 2nd intermission.

It's a replica of the 1924 Owen Sound Grey's Memorial Cup winning jersey. The team brought in limited numbers, which almost sold out in one weekend .

We have one of the few remaining size XL. The attack are wearing them in selected games till years end .

Visit the fan club booth on the concourse. Safe travels ! PS expecting a sell out for Saturdays game .

Well choosing either Mark or Dale would be a wise choice. I think there is no better at either position in the league. People say. Mark whiffs on first round picks but when he got to draft near the top he came up with Rick Nash, Corey Perry and Ollie Maata. Drafting 20th consistently because of finishing at or near the top you are getting coin flip of 2nd round talent. Making shrewd trades got us high second round picks like Bonk, Cowan and O’Reilly. Dale on the other hand could coach a bunch of plugs and make them over achievers and finish near the top. Glad we have both along with Basil. They have built a great organization.

London Knights figuratively speaking? Not a whole lot for the team by itself, it's the heads that run the team that worth money, no guaranties the new owner GM and coach combination would do just as well

Do you know if game worn (Grey's) jerseys will be auctioned off at some point?

It is not going to be a 10-3 score again tonight in London's favours, they should want to play like to want to win it 11-2 though. Unfortunately, it is not going to be an easy game again against Kitchener tonight.
