I've thought this for quite some time...either that or he's plastered every game
I want to weigh in on Greg Sloan .. I have having been watching the Knights for 25+ years now .. home & away & i can't disagree more on your assessment of Greg Sloan .. his pre-game league reviews are informative and provide insight into trends across the O as well as across Canada .. i look forward every week to his summaries and projections .. as for his play by play he is second to none .. not a 'homer' .. he will call a foul a foul, his broadcasting is fair, insightful and balanced .. which is a lot more than I can say for most if not all other play by play anouncers in the O .. moreover, his intonation and cadence along with his clear knowledge of the game far surpasses any other play by play announcer in the league .. together with Rick, they set the gold standard at least in the OHL and I would argue would make far better replacements for the uninspiring and monotone delivery of the Maple Leaf announcers .. Greg and Rick provide professional level broadcasting at the MajorJunior A Level .. just my opinion but i know it is shared by many other fans and announcers across the league

6-4 for Flint at the moment of writing these words in mid third

By far their worse team performance of this season and that includes the 4 pre-season games.
This does not mean they are on a slide , they will be as good tomorrow as they were yesterday.
It means everyone decided to ride the back seat tonight, no one on the driver seat to lead.
If your opponent is faster on the puck and is outworking you, it means you are not working and skating as hard, you need to stop watching and start picking up your socks and generate speed of your own.

They will be fine so is their offense will be as well, this game was a team mental break down. IMHO

What a horrible sequence of officiating … missed a very obvious call, with the Flint player hauling down Dickinson, then a very weak call against London. London didn’t deserve to win this game, but that sequence killed any hope they had of coming back.

The comments regarding Sloan have nothing to do with lack of knowledge. The slurred speech and decline of cognitive sensors is the concern

Must have been those horrendous Spider Knight jerseys.
A dark time in Knights history.

The vaunted Knights d-men were quite ordinary tonight. In fact, they were regularly backing in on their goaltender as opposed to owning their blueline and engaging the Firebird players as they entered the zone. Suddenly they've all developed an allergy to physical contact, and as a result, there were NO significant hits, and the Firebirds had free reign in the London end. They made Simpson look bad, and Willmore suffered the same lack of shot protection. Granted, they're all strong skaters, and they've relied on that ability perhaps a bit too much. Time to assert the physical side of the defensive game, and knock a few opponents on their butts. Make that adjustment, and the team won't be digging themselves into a 4 goal deficit, and coming up short in an attempt at a comeback.
Check out the game highlights, and the Firebird goals. In almost every instance, the opponents encountered little to no resistance toward gaining the zone.

No, it is not on the officiating, human bad calls comes of the game. They lost this game long before the drop of the puck, they dug themselves too big of a hole to claim out of.

Flint Firebirds speeds made London D play cautiously on their heels

Unpopular opinion

We just don't have the team to win it all. A series or two maybe but not the mem cup trade some vets build for next few year

I never said officiating cost them the game, if you read my whole post. It actually said they didn’t deserve to win the game, didn’t once say they officials cost them the game.
Just simply saying, that one sequence was horrible by the officials and killed any possible chance of a comeback. Missed a blatant call one way and called a soft one the other way, that never would have happened if they called the first one.

Slow start dooms London Knights in 7-4 loss to Flint

By: Ryan Pyette
Though the Knights faithful chanted at the refs, London’s brass wouldn’t pin the blame on that one sequence.
“We put ourselves in that situation in the first place to get it going,” Steadman said. “We were moving along before (that call). It’s not on (the refs). It’s on us to get done what needs to be done.”

Well apparently the third period was better but my back was bothering me so I left. They now have living proof that you have to show up and put an effort to win these games. You can’t be that lackadaisical in the first and second period and expect to win. Simpson seemed to be fighting the puck and when the defense is that soft it spells for disaster. File that and move on and show a better effort tonight.

Found Greg Sloans wifes account.

I’m sorry but maybe one without the other would be alright but the nasally voice tied with “campaign” and “contest” is just horrid. I dislike watching home games on TV because of those two.
