Need a little more grit on that first line I am afraid, would like to see MaCue swtch with Gaz. O'Reilly and Cowan will be fun to watch for sure. The player that has impressed the most this year has to be the play of Leonard, he's up a couple notch over last season, playing regular shift while McKinnon's absent really help him. IMHO

I like the effort after 2 periods. 3-1 Knights.Ok, I'm not going to complain about the officiating. Instead, I'm going to take note of the refs (Coloumbe and Lepkowski) and wait and see how they officiate Knights games moving forward. So everyone, remember this post, remember these two: Coloumbe and Lepkowski.
If Guelph loses tonight, and continues to play this poorly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Wiseman fired, then perhaps George returns behind the bench and Guelph goes on a tear.
Stay out of the box, and finish this off.

London 5-2 winners over Storm in Guelph

If this is not a satisfying win nothing will ever be.
PP 4 for 5 Bonk standing tall out front of net
PK only 1 on 7 tries Simpson standing tall in his blue ice

awesome skating makes for awesome game resulting to an Awesome win

I wouldn't call all these penalties as undisciplined, I think we can put down two calls as real questionable. Refs are humans too.

I would love that scenario. I don't tend to harp, but I am losing my patience with Wiseman. He had our 3rd pick (2nd rounder in 2023 draft) playing second line, left wing tonight. I knew it would be bad from the posting of the lineup. And no in-game adjustments when things weren't going well. In the second period intermission interview when Karabela said "it only takes two shots", I could've screamed. Where did he get that line? 1. Your team is getting so few shots on net most nights it's laughable... 2. Even in this rose coloured "2 shot" world you live in, that would tie the game. Keep reaching for the stars, guys.

PP was clicking against the top PK in the league (approx. 90%). Bonk in the bumper position on the PP is paying dividends. PK is getting scoring chances. I thought we were in control most of the game. Still taking too many penalties. These two teams don't like one another. The Namestikov/McCue battles go back to the former's time in Sarnia. Now you can add McGuire and the guy who took the 5 min crosschecking major to the list. Boulton will answer the bell.
Team seems to be on a roll.

I've only seen Guelph 3 times this year, and in those games, I didn't see a confident team. They don't play like a well oiled machine, and sometimes it just takes a coaching change to right the ship. It's not the sort of Guelph team that I'm used to watching. Of course, Poitras' absence hurts. Allen's too.

I see a lot of talent on this team, good defense and great goaltender in Gillespie. What I don't see is team plays, we see individualistic plays and a whole lot of frustration on the ice. If the coach has introduced his system the players have not bought into it yet, season is still young for them to get themselves familiarized with it. They could be a couple snipers away as well, wait and see what George will bring to the Storm by the deadline.

Do you see soft team that can be thrown off their game by an opposing team that comes out hitting?

I don't agree with this assessment. McGuire and Paquette make a solid 3rd/checking line and will throw the body around. They have always been a good team on the forecheck/backcheck, this seems to be getting lost with the newer coaching. You can time their slip after a good start to when they found out Poitras was staying in Boston.... time to give up that dream and work with what they've got.

But this is the London board... happy to chat Guelph with you on the other board dirty12!

No I don't, I see a very young team searching for it's identity on the ice, uselly individual play does not lead to many shots on net, as well as a lack of league game experiences. You want to see more offence, and that is understandable but we also all know offense start from your back end first. The Storm are already there, now they have to play as a team on offense to generate more shots and scoring chances, they have teammates on the ice might as well uses them all it's more productive this way.. IMHO Cheers !

Was not aware it was a very young team, it seemed balanced to slightly veteran, so I did not really bother to check

I am speaking in general terms, I do not list names on social networks, they have a good mix but in the end whether old or young and in between they all have to play the team game if they want to have more success.

Discussion points for anyone who cares?

Big deal by Windsor/Saginaw/Kingston today.
Undisciplined play fortunately didn’t cost London last night.
Guelph announcers were bad. Steve Fitzsimmons was a good one.
Spiderknight uniform back tomorrow. Gross.

Good team effort. Bonk PP system worked. Not a fan of the 5 forwards on the PP. Is Flint good enough to stay out of the bottom 2 spots...and make the playoffs?

Windsor needed 2nd Rd picks after squandering them last season for a Cup run that ended in a humiliating first round exit. 1st seed getting swept by 8th seed. Saginaw looking to bolster lineup. Not the best start for a Mem Cup host team. I think McNamara will do well in Kingston.
I, too, hope Knights cut down on penalties. They have to be more disciplined.
I still think that Greg Sloan is the worst, but it may not be his fault. In all seriousness, I'm concerned that he's suffering from some sort of cognitive decline. And I believe he would do well to get checked out. No laughing matter.
OS play by play guy, Mark... is good. And the Soo and Oshawa have good commentators.
