Naw, unfortunately they would have to cut MacKinnon, but I could see Alec Leonard, Kaeden Johnston, and William Nicholl and draft picks being moved to acquire Ludwinski and Schmidt.

Dickinson - Bonk
George - Schmidt
Edward - Brzustewicz/Wooley
0 chance kingston would do this 2 unproven 4th line depth forwards and a big downgrade at d for one of the best 2 way players in the league and one of the best stay at home d men in the league

Hey man, love the passion! Just want to be very clear, I don’t think it would happen, I just want it to happen. He could be our “Jacob Graves” for a long run. But we don’t really need him TBH. We have a deep defense core already, but I would love a big stay at home defenseman, cuz I don’t think we really have that. And you do need that guy for a big run.

Nichol is more than a 4th line guy. Think Stuart Rolofs offensive projection. Kaeden Johnston could be like Matheu Paris offensive production

I think you’re missing the point. It’s not about why would London do this. It’s about why would kingston do this trade? Those guys will be nothing more then 4th line/13th forward guys this year and next. You have the 4th overall pick currently playing 3rd/4th line

They need impact players this year and next. If anything they’d be looking at Sam O’Rielly. And if London didn’t give him up then lots and lots of picks. And if they don’t do that they’ll go elsewhere

I’m not missing the point, Nichol fits the team timeline of your team being a top team next year and the year after. London is so deep that Nichol has to be a 4th line. I have no doubt he would be in on the 3rd line immediately with the Fronts with a progression challenging the top 6 by next year.

Same with Kaeden Johnston….

Plus let’s say 3 second round picks and 2 third round picks.

Ruslan Gazizov player of the week in OHL

Good on London patience to keep Gazizov, reading to so many earlier posts he would have been dealt long ago. I for one are very happy Mark and Dale did not yield to pressure

Okay so let’s start here. He’s not playing more than-

1 Ethan Miedema 2 Matthew Soto 3 Gabriel Frasca 4 Jacob battaglia 5 Chris thibodeau 6 Tyler Hopkins in the next 2 years. Let alone guys like 7 weir, 8 McNamara, and if they get an import forward (9) in the import draft after hemstrom is gone. So who is he playing more then?

If he’s on the team this year he is for sure not playing anymore than 4th line minutes

also this is a year which kingston needs to get playoff experience before going all in next year. 2026 they’ll rebuild. He might play after half the guys on the team either age out/go to the nhl/get traded or get hurt but that’s a lot of things that has to happen.

He’s had the best playmaking skills and vision on the team for the last two years, just glad he’s finally putting it all together!

What if the Bruins send Matt Poitras back to Guelph imagine he be a good target at the deadline.

why on earth would geulph send him to london?

You touched on a point I was wondering about last week. How many games does a player have to be in to count towards the Scholarship? Are the Knights trying to give Nathan an extra year of school? Spitballing.

they have the option to just give it to him without playing a game as well if thats the case, but one game is all that is needed

I was guilty of wanting Gaz gone early on...totally wrong. Changed player...very nice to see. Now lets see the same turn around with #37
Think 37 needs a change of scenery hasn't gotten the reps here being so fat down the depth chart but if he puts it together he will be nice pickup for someone

DICKINSON, O’REILLY NAMED TO 2024 CHL/NHL TOP PROSPECTS GAME

Knights draft eligible’s Sam Dickinson and Sam O’Reilly have been named to the roster for the 2024 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Moncton, NB.

The annual game features two rosters of the best draft eligible players across the CHL to showcase their talents for NHL scouts ahead of the upcoming draft. The Knights have recently been represented by players like Denver Barkey, Oliver Bonk, Isaiah George, and Luke Evangelista.

Dickinson, the fourth overall pick in the 2022 OHL draft and first defenceman taken, was acquired from the Niagara IceDogs prior to his rookie season. Dickinson earned an “A” rating on the initial NHL Central Scouting lists and has recorded 26 points across 32 contests this season.

O’Reilly was the Knights second round selection, 37th overall in the 2022 OHL draft and spent his rookie season with the GOJHL’s London Nationals. In O’Reilly’s first full season with the Knights he has 27 points over 32 games and leads all OHL rookies in scoring. O’Reilly enters the holiday break with 9 points over a five game point streak.

Dickinson and O’Reilly will head east for a Wednesday, January 24th puck drop on TSN.
