The Knights will have extra motivation from last year, especially Brochu.

Oh the memory , I can still picture from my seat at the Bud, love to see that again. Hope the Knights and their fans think this is going to be easy, love that under dog feeling
What makes you think Kitchener is the underdog here? If my memories serve me right Kitchener beat the Knights last year, they are the series defenders and the team to beat in this new after season series. IMHO

Any chance the Knights will have interest in hometown boy and top 3 goalie this season, Michael Simpson?
Seems like a good fit to pair with Bowen (05
I could see Guelph as a good trade partner with Peterborough next year. Going all in for Beck, McCoy/Simpson. George likes to go F/D from the same team if he can and Peterborough will have some pieces they would be interested in.
The cost for all three would be very high. It likely would cost Guelph two or three young players including their first round draft pick and multiple draft picks including several 2nd and 3rd round draft picks. I doubt the Petes will trade all three to one team. They have a better chance of getting a better return for them by trading them separately.

Yeah, I meant two of the three. Depends on goalie performance... but George would push the chips in for F/D. We have the assets.

Sorry to comment on thr LDN board. Petes, come chat future scenarios on the Guelph board. There is room! Lol

That's what I thought every time the Kitchener not really an 8th seed got played. Whatever gets you through the night.
Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head. It’s the most embarrassing loss in junior hockey history. Easily worse than any reverse sweep, random upset, or disappointing Memorial Cup performances.

Any series predictions for LDN/KIT? Pinelli being out for games 1 and 2 benefits London but George is out for London (as far as we know).

Rangers we’re on the other side of one of these years ago. In 88-89. Finished #1 overall and expected to go all the way. But we got eliminated in 5 games by North Bay in round one.

Not a sweep, but getting booted in game 5 at the Aud was just as bad. I sat in my seat quite a while after that game wondering what the hell happened.

Not fun.

THE KING HAS LOST HIS HEAD

Never approach a series thinking you are "King of the Hill", because you are not, someone is coming for your hill and if your mind is not ready to prepare you will lose it . To stay king many barriers needs to be knocked down still, you will not be until proven again the challengers are no more.

You can have a team full of talent finishing first and be ousted by a less talented team that finished eighth place, how is that possible. Reading Windsor board they are telling us it's the offence, it's the defence, no it's the goalies, no way it's coach Savard's fault, and my favorite this Kitchener team are no eighth place team. In my opinion it's the mind that makes it all go, they are failing to recognise teams needs strong team mentality to go along with all that talent in a short series. It worked well in regular season with no pressure, and for Kitchener a lack of mental preparedness hold them down for most of the season. The exact opposite happened to both teams in their playoff series. We see it through out the season very often, how many time do we see a bottom team beating a first place team.

It's a team game, the mental game is as important as the skill game. London you are no King yet, but if you really want it you can be !!! IMHO

I'll give credit to the Knights staff for continously reworking their PP unit systems over the years based on personal.
From 2 D, 5 Fs, umbrella, Regula net front ( whodathunkit ) , cross crease, half wall bombs, Bouchbombs working low too high...whatever. Ya gotta do that as no 1 system will fit with differing personal.
I like the movement this year WHEN executed (cycle up top) but.....it leaves them vulnerable if 1 pass is tipped. Kitchener was effective scoring on the Spits PP. If they have active sticks, n quick feet it could leave Knights vulnerable.
If I'm Ktown I go rotating diamond and attack that high cycle looking for a chip n go. Heads up Brochu

Dam afternoon shift! I am going to miss Thursday and Fridays games. Oh well I can watch replay when I get home. Hopefully George is a go for Thursday. If the boys can forecheck and put pressure on Rangers defense and get clean looks at net. Four lines playing consistent pressure and no stupid penalties.

I hope Isaiah is a go for Thursday. The 7 D-man choice by the Hunters was key to a quick start against Owen Sound. Top forwards had a lot more ice time. 4th line never existed he mixed in Julien with others. I think with about 15 games to go in the season coaches had a little talk with Jackson Edward about his lack of discipline taking unnecessary penalties he has gotten into less scrums after the whistle and is time in sin-bin is way down. I think taking the last two games of the season seriously (after we lost first) was huge...allowed us to pass Sarnia and made Kitchener play Windsor. I think Brochu is ready for two more real long series.

Good analysis save one minor point...

Winning the last regular season game against Kitchener forced the Spits-Rangers series but had nothing to do with passing Sarnia. We were locked into second seed weeks before that.

Not the point in the final series allows us the extra home game

So little respect ! If there's any indication of how this edition of the Knights rolls, this season's coaches poll pretty much nails it. Of all the potential candidates, only 4 Knights were deemed worthy of a mention, and only 1 getting a 1st place nod from among the numerous categories. Considering that the team finished 2nd overall, and was in contention for 1st right up to the final week of the season, it confirms that this team's achievements was accomplished without depending on individual stars. Stronger than the sum of it's parts !!! The coaches have pretty much confirmed it.

Rangers had 0 shootouts this year and Costantini was ranked 2nd in shootout goalie. Not much effort in these rankings.

I'd be curious as to which players that London coach Hunter voted for, and which players Windsor coach Savard gave his vote to ?
Might provide some clue as to offensive/defensive valuations.
