I know it's early but when will the next series start. Do they have to wait until next Friday, or can they go early since both squads are done?

Edit: didn't realize the Lightning had a Friday/Saturday back to back

I still think they go Friday/Sunday in London then Monday/Wednesday in Kitchener, game 5 Thursday in London, game 6 Saturday in Kitchener and game 7 in London Tuesday the 25th

It’s going to be a different schedule because the Lightning have 7:00 PM home games back to back on 21 and 22

Kitchener will want their usual Tuesday home game. Almost thinking it’ll go 13, 14, 16, 18, and 20 for the first five games

London
Solid 1st round performance and we get the win. We should have clearly had the better team and then lump in injuries on the backend to Owen Sound and there big scorer. I like our chances against Kitchener, similar game plan should work. Game 1 & 2 we were buzzsaws on the puck and pressured the D to move the puck quickly. HAVE to exploit a Rangers D that struggled all year long. Good Luck Knights enjoy the well earned rest.

Congratulation London Knights on a well played series 4 games to none :tmi:

9 London Knights players either tied or outscored million dollar man Shane Wright(1g-2a =3pts) including Humphrey 2g-1a and Julien 1g-2a = for 3pts each. :hit:

Now the brand new Kitchener team is coming to town, that team is no fluke and London are for real. The fastest and most discipline team will win this series. :cf:

Sure am glad the Knights didn't do a big sell off to get Harrison & Wright

I wanted Harrison at the deadline. No idea if woulda worked out better here for the player. I might just been plain azz dumb for thinking it lol. We will never know......
BUT very glad BB n the Spits "outbid" "outsmarted" and "had a preferable destination" than LK and stuck it to Mark at the deadline. Read it a few times........ Can't wait to see of there was a part 2 to the Wright deal.
I think this makes it once in 13 years they have finished ahead of LK when the entire season is done.

Hindsight is 20/20 and sometimes things don’t work out. London’s method is more stable and sustainable but any team in the CHL would take three Memorial Cups in under 10 years, I would think.

And now that Windsor is no longer a "factor", London gets home ice advantage the rest of their series games.
I do seem to recall some Spits fans gloating that their GM had outbid London for the best available player, at the trading deadline. Their Wright move turned out being a trade for a ghost.

Yes it certainly is. And in hindsight I'm glad BB went sgainst what he said was the organizations new philosophy the previous year and went big. Guess they panicked or didn't mean what they tried to sell last year to their loyal fans.

Guess we won't ever know what 58 other CHL teams would take unless we ask all those teams and compare the ENTIRE picture in a poll. ( ohl titles, Memorial Cup appearances, division titles, regular season butts in the seats $, franchise value$, playoff revenue$, NHL players developed......Owners may like $ over a decade n a half more than a B2B title 14 years ago. I dunno.
I know which I'd prefer. But won't assume for the other 58 teams.

" Backdoor" Memorial Cups might be somewhat satisfying to some fans. Those are somewhat like a trip to a brothel. Sure, you get a measure of satisfaction, but you sure as hell had to buy and pay for it.

I’ll admit it and eat some crow while I’m at it! I wanted to add the big names at the trade deadline.
The Wright-Harrison deals to Windsor looked good on paper and the Spits played really well offensively after the deadline, but it seems nothing compares to playoff success experience a la Winterton and Humphrey. London can roll 3 solid lines and a really good 4th line to compete with anyone. Their D is solid and Brochu is in the zone. Now it’s not all sunshine and unicorns. PP needs to take advantage of opportunities, PK could be a tad better and the biggest question mark of all…discipline. Knights were mostly disciplined this series and weren’t goaded into bad retaliatory penalties, but there are still some hot heads on the team that could potentially lose their cool and take a bad penalty or two, especially when frustrated and playing from behind (which they seldom did the past 4 games).
Overall, a really good series win. Most importantly a really solid team win. No one took a night off this series and no one went into business for themselves. That says a lot. Kudos to the team, Dale and Mark. There’s a reason you run the team and we don’t.
Now the road gets tougher. Kitchener is a sold team with good depth, scoring, solid D and good goaltending. Should be a great series. I see it going 6 or 7.
FWIW I’ve heard games 1 and 2 are tentatively scheduled Thursday and Friday.

Thanks for the late night laugh, a pretty funny analogy.

It’s interesting how things work out. If Cann could make routine saves in 09 or Kitchener could just hold off Hall another few minutes in 10, history would look a lot different for Windsor as well. Luck is involved in this sport, a lot. Dylan even admitted that Rouyn played London very hard in 16. However, London was the best team in 12 and lost. Hockey’s weird.

Barrie goalie, Anson Thornton, scored as many 2023 playoff goals as Wright...1.
And Bonk remains a Knight.
I don't know how far we'll go in the playoffs, but as I said before, entertaining brand of hockey this season. In London, we're used to one line of superstars who play what seems like 30 minutes a game. This year no superstars, scoring spread out, a fast skating team with some talented kids up front (Diaco, Barkey, Cowan, Winterton, McGurn, Gazizov), impressive zone breakout, one of our best D-corps in quite some time, a very mobile D, and Brochu between the pipes. Tough challenge next series.

I’m going to say that the defence has disappointed to a certain extent. Goal prevention just was not good enough, looking at the entire season, considering the strong goaltending and pedigree of the defence. Mobile, yes. PP is lacklustre which also has something to do with the PP qb’s.
Maybe they’ll do well against Kitchener, maybe not. It should be a great series and could go either way, short or long.

Friday morning conspiracy theory: Shane Wright and Brett Harrison wanted and expected to be Knights, so purposely they followed that deadline up with less than stellar performances with the Spits to get on with their pro careers. Ok, I’m just joking. Relax.

Found out recently that Harrison's parents billeted Rob Schremp, so Harrison grew up a Knights fan and wears #44 in tribute to Schrempie.
