Coaches can't vote for anyone on their own team.
Yes, I was fully aware of that stipulation. My curiosity is limited to which players on opposing teams they selected as 1st, 2nd, & 3rd choices, if that's how the voting is done. Their selections might provide a clue as to their natural inclinations and preferences ( e.g. : are they defensively or offensively inclined ? )

I'm feeling that the key to this series will be team discipline. Knights do have team speed, and if they use it, they can force the Rangers into taking penalties. That'll put stress on their PK unit, and limit the ice time for their offense players.

I'm also seeing some folks being influenced as to this series outcome by the Knights performance last season. This is a very different team. We have 2 healthy and capable goalies, coupled with a mobile defense corps with an additional year of experience and confidence.

This team has also proven to come out on the winning side of games where a single goal is the difference. This edition of the Knights is not so heavily reliant on 1 or 2 key goal scorers, but rather distribute the scoring throughout their lineup. Lots of different players are offensive threats, making it difficult to concentrate on shutting down one line.

Given all of that, I still see discipline as being the difference. Play with it, and force the opponents into undisciplined play. Agitate, but don't retaliate, and if a penalty is taken, at least take one of their players so that calls are "evened up "

I agree, one thing that pleasantly surprised me against OS was for the most part the guys behaved. Especially so in Game 1 as it was pretty obvious OS had a plan to try and intimidate. Throughout the season although it was never terrible we took our share of bonehead penalties but when it matters most they sucked it up. Let's hope Dale and the staff can keep the wrap on them as I'm sure it will get chippy at some point. History between the two teams pretty much dictates that!

Fully agree. London has to push the pace and stay disciplined. If they don’t skate in this series, they won’t win. They’re not going to win many battles on the boards. Keep the game up tempo.

One Team 20 Players 20 Minds on One Page

Team work, team system, team offense when required, allways team defense all players no exception, all players accepting their role. Play as hard defensively as they would offensively. Play the trap when required and all ways play it hard. This team has no superstars and when well motivated they are very hard to beat, every positions on this team (all lines O-D & G are all well balance including ones not dressing. If they look after their own (for gosh sakes stick to game plan) they will be victorious. IMHO

Put them through the boards. Let’s play those soft rangers hard and frustrate them to being undisciplined. Hope to see big things from McCue!

It would be a huge mistake to take the Rangers as a soft team, they are not that same regular season team anymore, they are an after season first place team now at the same level as the Knights are.

And if the London players don't behave, Hunter carries the referees around in his pocket like loose change 😁

Thanks for posting Otto. I'm not much of a history guy (hence my ability to remain a Leaf Fan?) but I kinda wondered why last year's win by the Rangers was celebrated by there fan base similar to a Memorial Cup victory. I can see now and justifyably so why it was so big for them. Good on them hopefully we can extinguish the glimmer of hope they got from last years win. Cheers ;) ......

Any truth to the rumour that you were spotted at the Black Walnut, cappuccino in hand, wearing a Rangers jersey, and heckling Knights fans as they walked by? Lol!
Haha no, but I have walked up to Mr. Hunter in a close by Valu-Mart and said he was my favourite Kitchener Rangers alum. He had a good laugh.

P.s, I'm more of a Sidetrack Cafe guy now. The walk up window is great when you're pushing the little one around the village.

Any recommendations for food near the arena?

I came across Fitzrays. Can I get some reviews?

Ask here and you'll get a bunch of responses.

Lots of great choices with a 10 min walk. Depends what your looking for.
Or Google Maps the area from Joe Kools on Richmond down towards the arena. Good luck.

Just not as familiar as I used to be with the area as when I lived closer
