Rangers draw first blood against the Spits 5-3

This is why it was so important for the Knights to beat Kitchener on Sunday. They are not an 8th place team. They are likely in the top 4, after having underachieved for most of the season.

If they can upset Windsor, it would give the Knights home ice advantage for the remainder of the Western Conference Playoffs....provided, of course, that they can keep on winning themselves!

Game day.
The Knights gotta get back to a 5 man unit while playing without the puck.
Fs work back hard and hound the pucks carriers, limit options and speed thru the nuetral zone and be dogged in the man to man D in their own zone. Can't miss assignments, trust your teammates and avoid sliding outta position puck watching or trying to cover for others.
Play fast on D n force TO. This team generates O from how the play without the puck.
Not sold on Kitchener beating Windsor thru 7 games as of now but if they do can't wait for the very few excuse maker posters to be active. Refs, schedule, injuries, opponent matchups, whatever

I understand what you are saying, but you can not afford to put your team mentally down before the puck is even dropped.

It does not matter one bit who they meet first or last, in playoffs hockey you have got to beat everyone you meet, your team better be ready if you want to advance. London better be in control of their destiny or they'll be playing golf sooner then expected. You look after your team and let others look after theirs, and if you are the "better team well prepared and ready" you'll come out on top regardless who you meet.. IMHO

It's no secret that the Knights played like crap over the final month of the season and nowhere near their capability. Hence the optimum matchups give them time to get back to peak potential before having to face a team like Sarnia. Yes, they have to beat everybody, but if we can get back in top form before having to do so, it could mean the difference between a series victory vs. an early exit.

If they did not have enough time after pre-season camp and 68 regular season games to get to a peak form, well I am sure a seven game series at low intensity won't help either. (the studies are over, it's time for final exam)

That's what we want to hear up here! Hopefully the Knights players are already looking past the first round like they won't have to try. 😉

5 min left in the 2nd. Good start to the series.
I look for OS to get more physical this game after Barlow/Sim and the 4-0 score. Don't blame em. Not that Sim did anything wrong. But rather they are getting beat good, their star had to step up n look for a spark, n the players probly wanna send a message that it won't be easy, regardless of score.

Be smart LK.

Let's be clear... It was Barlow who wanted the fight. The Attack players didn't like to see their captain drop the gloves, and said something to Sim. Easy to read lips if you're watching at home. Sim said "He asked for it. He asked for it". Lawrence on the other hand...

Exactly what I meant by my post regarding Sim n Barlow. Captain trying to spark his group, I get it.
I posted before Lawrence incident. But knew something would happen.
Lawrence got poked, poked back but then took it a step further.
Heads on a swivel, play it out for tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if he watches Sunday in a suit from the stands.

We've seen some tape on Barlow's left wrist, not very smart to fight with a sore wrist and now London knows about it. I truly like Barlow he's an excellent player, he plays the game hard and he is a very good leader as well, I understand his move but it's not very smart if he gets out of action because of it.

Shady implications here... the Knights can win this series without playing dirty and trying to injure Barlow. Have some integrity.

Apparently Barlow has puke on his face

Barlow is doing a good enough job at it himself

Post-game thoughts:
Only one team showed up tonight, and it was the team coached by the guy with 900 wins. Brochu was sharp. Overall, the defense was solid, not giving up many quality scoring chances. It's only one game, and I expect the Attack will play a lot better on Sunday afternoon. If Barlow did not get into that fight, you might have been left wondering if he was even in the lineup...invisible. Attack were undisciplined and I think, were deserving of even more calls against them. Votary was not good, and my guess is that Chenard starts game 2. We skated well, our forte, and capitalized on a fair chunk of our scoring opportunities. Enjoy the win tonight, but don't count out the Attack.

Hedon rating: 10/10

A look at the lineup told us fourth line Humphrey with 1 goal has played strong all night and Julien 1 goal 1 assist and was dangerous all over the ice so was Diaco and Gazizov . Don't expect another 7-0 win again on Sunday, OS will adjust you can bet on that. London will need to go hard as if they want to win 8-0 this time, can let up and can't have a night off. This was an excellent team win and those are the ones that helps upstair above the shoulders. Great team win !
