I have been disappointed in Humphrey the last 6 games or so. Sim and Barkey are missed up front. McKinnon on back end. I think next time we have a turnover that is bad and ends up in behind the goal tender call a time out. That way you don’t have two bang bang. It has happened multiple times this year that I can remember. Twice against Flint for sure at home and away. We just have to win 3 in a row now ffs. Not hard and I have faith. Throw the lines back together with Barkey and SIM at centre. Gazizov, McGurn and Diaco, Cowan, Winterton and Barkey, Sim, McCue, Crane, and Julien, Humphrey and Nichol/Levin/Paris. You could swap McCue and Julien if you need to spice up either line.
I wouldn't be putting Crane on the checking line...his defense leaves a lot to be desired. On one shift last night, he was standing in the middle of the defensive zone (not covering anybody), then when he did finally pickup a man, he immediately left him to go after another player, again leaving his own man wide open in the slot. You'd think at this point in the season they would have the man-to-man coverage thing down pat, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Out of all the other 3rd/4th line options, I think Julien has played the best overall, and I would put him on the 3rd line with Sim and McCue.

I think there is chemistry between Sim, McCue and Crane. You could swap out Crane for Humphrey and he, Julian and Nichol, Levin or Paris could click and put some in the net. The Sim line could shutdown as as well as chip in some goals.

Offense has not been the Knights problem if you can't take the puck away from your opponents your O-lines are not going to do much , so it don't really matters who plays on who's line. Defensive playing has been neglected because they are constantly playing catch up hockey from getting behind very early, their whole defensive system is suffering because of it as they are getting outplayed outshots and outscored. They need team preparedness before first drop of the puck and stay with the system for the duration of the game. This is a very talented team but they are also very fragile if someone takes a night or even a shift off.

They tried changing the song a few years ago, 2016 I believe. Bobnoxious wrote a song for them to use. But a bunch of fans lost their minds, so they changed it back to Chelsea Dagger after only a handful of games.

But I agree, I'm not a huge Chelsea Dagger fan, because its the Blackhawks song. I would like something our own.

Here's the song, I found it on YouTube.

Actually fans weren't outraged by this song. It was when they tried to steal the Rags goal song and dub in GO KNIGHTS GO

It doesn't matter what happens the rest of the season or playoffs. Just hearing the Otters play by play guy so dejected after the opposing team scores and Erie inevitably loses is joy enough for me.

Was anyone at the Skills yesterday? I was there for a bit, but had to leave early. Wondering if they ever unveiled the second Brett Brochu? I have no idea who it was, but he was wearing all his old gear and his jersey, was even about the same size.

Not sure if any of you London fans made the trip down to Sarnia this season but they created their own goal song and it's absolutely atrocious. I can't even put it into words but it kinda sounds like a guy having a stroke with a "go sting go" mixed in every 4-5 seconds.

Sting need to stick with "black and yellow" by Wiz Khalifa imo. I second Song #2 for you guys, timeless.
Indeed it's comical 😂

In Flint this year, every player gets to pick their own goal song. Now I’m not sure if that will remain next year though, but I like it. What’s it really matter to fans much? We’re gonna cheer the same anyway. Let the boys have some fun. I think it might just be a special excuse so they can play “Rock Me Amadeus” after a Lombardi goal this year though. Which was suggested by…..I believe it was Nelli? long ago and is pretty slick to hear. Like every game.

Yeah I mentioned Rock Me Amadeus but I didn't know that they actually played it when 93 scored... That's awesome!

I wouldn't reward Sim with increased minutes. He hasn't done anything to prove he deserves more ice.

Guess we will see the Knights pull the goalie if the score is tied late in regulation on Friday
and risk losing home ice in the 2nd round?
Guess they have to decide whats more important, staying ahead of Sarnia or catching Windsor.

Only way they catch/pass Windsor, is go 3/3 this weekend because London doesn't have the tiebreaker. But they can still pass Windsor even if they win 1 of the games in OT, so I don't think pulling the goalie late in a tie game Friday would happen. Maybe Saturday, if they won Friday in OT.

If Sarnia and London win in round 1 does reseeding take place?

Edit: no, the division winners are always 1-2 in conference playoffs, no risk of losing home ice in round 2 should both teams advance

Yes my bad, I wasn't thinking of the division. Just looking at Confrence Standings, so I stand corrected.

So the only factor at play, would be they can still pass Windsor with a 3/3 weekend and one of the wins against Windsor coming in OT. So pulling the goalie in a tie game, I think could be more likely Saturday if Friday was an OT win.

I am not too sure winning the conference at all cost is the right way to go. Personally I would rather see them working on what works for them and what don't as they are preparing for the playoffs.

Why put addon pressures just for a bragging right, what really count is who will win the seven game series. London proved they can win on the road and Windsor proved they can lose in their barn, beside London can have the draft picks just ahead of the Spits just to p... them off. Same for Sarnia they can not wrestle second seed away from London no matter where they finnish. London should have a team meeting so they'll know why and what to work on and be well prepared for the after season. Which do you prefere, a tired winning team or a well rested team properly prepared and ready, double wammy if they happen to win the conference without the added pressure. What is essential is to be well prepared for a long after season, in my view. IMHO Cheers!

For me, getting the 1 seed is a lot more about round 2 of the playoffs then just a bragging right. If all lines up like it could, the 2nd round will put the 2 seed against Sarnia. Which we all know Sarnia is hot, and may be the toughest team in the West since the deadline.

A long way to go to get that far, but I think you play out the games this week, take the week of recovery before next Friday and where it falls it falls. But if you at least played the games out this weekend or until you can't move up anymore, at least you know you tried.

If you waited until the very last weekend to find out it'll be too late for fixing and too tired to advance anywhere. It don't matter when you meet higher or better teams, you need to beat them anyway, might as well meet them with a well rested up team. Let other teams emptying out their gas tanks in the last weekend plus the added risk of hurting their valuable players in that process. In My Humble Opinion !
