Does anyone have a scouting report on Copeland?

Don't know much about him, what I was able to find in a few minutes. Not a huge point guy yet, projected to be a goal scorer though from his draft. 2nd round pick by Niagara, But he is now coming into his prime OHL Seasons, so maybe those point totals will jump.
Not afraid to drop the gloves with 3 scraps, but a relatively low PIM total, considering the fights.

Does this mean Mackinnon and McCue are locks?

He could be a 1st line LW next season imo. Though his play thus far would not warrant any TOI from Hunter.

Oh wow so he’s got good potential, but hasn’t performed thus far …. Sounds like Paris… they both needed the change of scenery

Moving two forwards out now that must mean we do have a target up front…

Reading the tea leaves after Federkow and Humphrey have been moved… seems Mark might have his eye on a specific overager.

I don’t mind moving on from Humphrey. Solid player, but There was a lot of noise around his game and I’m not sure the substance always matched the audible.

Said it in my post days ago, we need an OA goalie. Look what’s happening, making moves to clear players out and get picks. Lol I must be on everyone’s ignore list. That’s ok. I know what I’m talking about folks. Maybe I know people. I like what I’m seeing. Should be a fun season!

Agreed. Solidifying G this early is key

Right now Halttunen, Gazizov, Barkey, Cowan are the only true top 6 forwards Julien as well in theory…. So IMO we need 1-2 top 6 forwards

Yea, but it really only makes more of a difference if they are a playoff team. Don't think many people think they are. They could suprise but...

Thought they gave up 2 2nds/3rd (HB) and recouped 2nd/2 3rds/5th in the deals. Maybe I read it wrong.

What if we got Beck (OA) from Ottawa and then in a separate trade move out Mackinnon and get a goalie (Gaudreau or Simpson) I think HB has proven he can hang in the top 6 D

Copeland seems to have some skill but we shall see if it translates to decent #s. Any addition to the O would be welcome but not holding my breath. Former high pick but I'm happy with the picks. And it's another body up front.


I just like the fact the Hunters always pivot in how to acquire talent and take chances being aggressive. ( euro trades when ya could, 1st rd hold outs, early season moves, fliers on US kids back when.....moving out top end players when mid pack)
Maybe not in on the big name deadline addition deals but they don't sit on their hands. Acquire assets, build a competitive squad. Hold when needed, flip when best.
