Thoughts on the deal…. Good!

Levin was never going to crack this line up, undersized, not terribly impressive hockey sense from my limited viewings. On Saturday he was clearly behind Paris and Johnston by a fair margin.

Federkow is valuable, the guy will go through a wall for the team just not a high upside. I’m glad he is going to Niagara as I would not want to face him in the playoffs.

Best of luck to both I think Niagara got some promising pieces at the right price.

As for the d, I think these are a lock at the moment:

Bonk Dickinson
George Edward
McKinnon Leonard
Brzustewicz

I would very much hope that McKinnon is move to free an OA spot for a goalie, Simpson/Gaudreau

Well getting a goalie is crucial. There is like a top 5 goaltender list and then there is a big drop off.
Tier A
Dom DiVincentis
Michael Simpson
Tier B
Ben Gaudreau
Colin MacKenzie
Anson Thornton

So getting a guy like Gaudreau would be the best bang for buck since we don’t have a lot of picks in the cupboards. Two 3rds and a 5th could get it done if we aren’t involving players going back.

The only thing that bothers me is I get “Trevor Cann” vibes from Gaudreau. Hopefully I’m wrong…

I don’t think Simpson is the same as DiVincentis

A fifth for Federkow makes sense given he’s a legit OHLer who can play D or W.
Surprised London could get a third for Levin. But Niagara is dumb.
i bet its flipped. 3rd for the oa dman, 5th for levin.

london was asking for way more then a 3rd for federkow at the deadline, 2nd and 3rd.

I feel the same, Simpson over Gaudreau any day… we can win with either of them.

you, thats what they do, drafting moore was smart, they can avoid the sit at 16 dance and get him there at 18 for a year or two. ive heard moore may go to harvard but with london taking him i can see him coming after the nhl draft.

i assume that fagan will be in waterloo, his agent is involved with the team
Fagan is playing with the Nationals

When? Did they sign anyone else from camp?

What’s the depth chart of our D ? Where does Mackinnon rank? I would assume he’s 5th behind Bonk, Dickinson, Edward and George….
Henry was wearing Knights gear and a half visor at the green and gold game so he's signed. They wouldn't trade for him at that price if he wasn't signed.

I've heard there's several more signings coming

2 part deal ;)

If that's true, then we can expect a few more players to be moved out for picks....

Paris?
Johnston?
Bowen?
Bowen wasn't in the green and gold game which I found puzzling

IF the knights are looking to "upgrade" in goal my preference from this group would be Thornton.
I don't believe DiVicentis will be available and not sold on Gaudreau for the big game. The guy that beat him last year is already on the team

EDIT: I thought Thornton was a year younger. I really don't like spending an OA on a goalie despite some of the Knights recent success going that route. Are there any WHL OA goalies available??

The 3 bolded D and Goalie could be upgraded. We could also really update our forward group quite a bit

What Ive learned today.
LK is going for it.
Selling off vet Ds and Fs.
Stockpiling 16 yr olds.for the run in 3 years
Trading most vets not Barkey, Cowan, Dickinson or Halt.
Got it :)

Slow n steady here, it'll take a bit to play out. One pick back fron the HB and they will get a coupke more back in time.

I want to see the signings happen. That will give an inclination of the direction

It looks to me like you want to have a team of 23 superstars.....which is just not realistic. The defense is more than adequate just the way it is. The three bolded D are all talented and serviceable regulars.

With the strength we have in our D corps, the goalies will be just fine until the trade deadline. I think even I could play net with this team in front of me!

I agree, we could use a little more scoring up front. We're a little thin after the big 3 (top line in the OHL this year?), but we've got half a season to let that play out. Mark will add more offense if we need it.

I think the main goal for the time being will simply be to trade off the excess and recoup some assets.

No I’m just saying if we really needed to/wanted to those 3 players are very serviceable and solid players, but Mackinnon (for example) as an OA we could get an OA that would be in our top 4… nothing against Mackinnon he’s a good kid, local guy, plays hard and doesn’t make many mistakes

I think he’s right. For whatever reason you always seem to want the knights to go after the next big fish. don’t care but I kind of see it the same way
