Someone replied saying it is nhl or Liga for kasper since he was a 2nd rounder, per euro- nhl agreement. But maybe someone can clear this up?
Yeah, I saw that as well. I am not sure of this either, as my knowledge is lacking in that area. You would have to think though, these guys have clauses in their contract allowing them to leave, knowing they will be NHL picks.

But at the same time, CHL players are CHL or NHL when drafted, so maybe it is a similar situation. But these are pro contracts, as Liiga is a pro league, so I would think it is different. But Like you said ArielNederland, maybe someone with greater knowledge of the rules can help out!

They dominated March going 4-0 but it looks like a 5-4 Feb. and a 3-10 Jan.
In last part of the season they hit their stride in last part of the season and dominated those last four games. The Petes had come together as a team as they did this year. Many people predicted the way they were playing and with the talent they had that it would be hard for any team to beat them in the playoffs. They would have likely faced Mississauga in the first round and would have won the series in four or five games. They would have then likely played Sudbury and likely would have won that series in six games and then they would have faced Ottawa in the conference final and given their record against them in the regular season and the fact that the 67s could not handle them physically Peterborough would have likely won that series in six or seven games. Who knows what might of happened in the league final against either London or Saginaw. The Petes were 2-0 against the Knights that season.

Both prior to the trade deadline and one was the very first game of the season.

Edit to add:
Looks like London went 10-1 in Jan., 9-2 in Feb. and 5-0 in Mar.
Would have been a great matchup.

London only lost something like 3 games after the trade deadline.
As an aside...there was also that stat provided on Twitter (and cited on HBs) from Geoffrey Brandow noting that London has won more games in the last 5 years than any other team (just edging out the Soo by percentage points). I'll have to go back and check the date of that Twitter post. I believe it was last year so it wouldn't include the most recent season...I think we would still rank as #1 in that category. I could be wrong...let me know.

Halttunen signed his elc with san jose
Should look nice in the green and gold

I'd tend to think Ryan Pyette wouldn't retweet if london isn't a possibility

Who knows what woulda happened, but I wouldn't hang my hat on the last 4 games of a season as a reason to consider a team a shoe in to win a conference.
Maybe they lose in rd 2?
One of the OHLs storied franchises for sure.

I couldn't find the Geoffrey Brandow Twitter stat that I was looking for. I'll keep searching. But I found one that made its way to HB on Jan. 2/20 and was commented on by Zman.
OHL MOST PLAYOFF GAMES WON BETWEEN 2010-2019:
1.London, 80 wins, 124 games
2.Barrie, 59 wins, 99 games
3.Icedogs, 55 wins, 104
4.Oshawa, 50 wins, 94
5.Erie, 49 wins, 80
6.Soo, 48 wins, 92
7.Steelheads, 46 wins, 89.

Kasper Haltunnen is one step closer to joining the Knights. He just signed an NHL contract!

Denver Barkey commented and joked that they will have to show him around town.

Like I said before he’s coming to London and now it’s looking like almost becoming reality for all those doubters ;)

AINEC.
I get fans crave championships and that's all good. We each got our measuring sticks. But for me having a consistent winning team that takes a serious run every 3/4 years, develops pros as well as any1 in the game is far more entertaining for me than selling the future and doing nothing in the reg. season n playoffs for 10 years.
Regardless of the Memorial cup. It's my $ n time invested and I do it to be entertained.
Hamilton has gotten the mix right lately for sure As far as ups n downs but most franchises have longer gaps between boom n bust.
To each there own.

Just an aside to the ya gotta trade big to win.........teams have won the OHL title without adding huge at a deadline.
LK did it adding a 5th/6th D and a bug one year not so long ago ;) ( that D was a Nelli fav I believe.....insert sarcasm emoji)
What team was it? And who were the adds?

The Petes were my pick to win the east that year. They had a fairly easy path to a conference final matchup vs the ‘67s; and a much better built playoff roster, I thought.
The west would have had tough round two series, I think. Flint, London, Saginaw, & (Kitchener?) were pretty loaded.
I remember thinking the London & Flint D were quite a bit better than any others. The Petes D was rock solid loaded with vets, just not filled with all-stars.

A true Knights fan knows never to doubt the Hunter boy's! Not to often they "swing and miss" completely. Let's hope he contributes right out of the gate as we probably of course will only see him for one season.

Bonk working to develop into 'total package' for Flyers

Defenseman, son of former NHL forward, was No. 22 pick in 2023

"To me he looks like he's the total package watching him in these (development camp) drills and stuff," Flyers assistant director of player development Nick Schultz said. "He enjoys defending. He's not just one side. He's a big (6-foot-2, 180 pounds), strong kid, obviously everyone loves that he's a right shot. I think he's very competitive and he loves defending and then obviously the side when he has the puck, he looks like he's got that skill level and that ability to make plays and bring that. It's exciting to have someone in the pipeline like him that we can work with and kind of continue to guide here and help them get to the pro level."

Hopefully he can get to 190/200 in the off-season and come back ready to dominate the O

“CHL teams are allowed to keep two Import players on the roster. If the club expects to keep these two players for the upcoming season, they can pass in the Import Draft. If a CHL club has an import player that is currently signed by an NHL team out of their program, they can select a third import player.”

I don’t think they can, because Halttunen wasn’t drafted as a London Knight and hasn’t even signed with the with the SJ Sharks. So expect no CHL draft picks or if they do they have released Halttunen’s rights as I don’t think we are dropping Gazizov’s.
I think you can still draft a 3rd import pick if one of them was drafted in the 1st Round of the NHL Draft.
