Knights win another partial played game 7-3 this time over the Spitfires, they had a little 3 goal break down scare in third but the Knights were able to keep up and stay ahead

Paul Cotter showed his right side around the D power skating on net again on his goal

Well with 3 in the third Windsor are sending a little message for tomorrow night

7-3 Knights

Post-game thoughts:
First two periods--total domination; just toyed with the Spits on their home ice.
Hiccup to start the 3rd--Knights more than likely thinking that they could coast for the last 20 min. Just turned out to be a wake-up call for London.
Not much the Big Letowski could do against a superior opponent.
Some facts? factors? or non-factors? Check the boxes...
-Spits didn't play last night. Both teams fresh.
-Refs were not at all a factor.
-Shots 34-26 London (incl. 20-8 after the 1st period)
-PPs: Windsor 0-4; London 0-3
-Even strength goals: London 6; Windsor 3
-Shorthanded goals: London 1; Windsor 0.
-EN: London
-To my friends in Windsor who for some odd reason like to keep track of "hit goalposts" (5 London; Windsor 1...Purboo).
-London playing with 4 rookies in the lineup G. Keane, Stranges, Evangelista, Panwar.
-Windsor: 4 rookies I think--Foudy, McDonald, Cuylle, Frasca [EDIT: Thanks Tribe79]
-Staios, -3; Corcoran -3.
-Scratches: London: McMichael, Guskov, Formenton; Windsor: Allen
Difficult to spin this game, but we shall see...

I thought you would have more faith in the spin doctor by now?!?!? It will go something like this

Clearly this game for Windsor is about the future and their rookies strongly out performed London’s , most of London’s points were scored by players that are going to be leaving the team in the next 2 years while Windsor’s were accounted for by the far superior base of a 2021 memorial cup contending Windsor squad. 3/4 London rookies were a negative +/- in a 7-3 win while neither of Windsor’s top 2 rookies had a negative while the team had 7 put against them. Cuylle clearly would have had the hat trick as well if it wasn’t for an awful hook by Cotter. Losing games this year is actually a positive as if gives the players some adversity to bond through while giving the drafting guru WR the chance to grab some top talent by getting to draft earlier. London doesn’t have the horses to get past Prince Albert if they somehow (doubtfully) manage to get out of the O, chances are they don’t make it out of the west as Guelph and the Sault have far superior teams. Windsor will be way further ahead in building their 2021 powerhouse and should go on to further the gap in Memorial cup titles with 4 to London’s 2.

Well, if Spit fans are really searching for any moral victory, then let me help out....

I was at the game and the Spitfires fans were much louder than the Knights fans.
Spit's jerseys had a much better shade of blue than the Knights' shirts.
Bomber was a much better mascot tonight than Scorezy, or Finchie, who did nothing memorable tonight.
And the Mac and Cheese, chicken & waffles platter in the South end restaurant was to die for!

Now, they can all go to sleep feeling better.

PS - I'm kidding about the Mac& Cheese, Chicken and Waffles platter. Not that it exists on the menu, which it does, but that it is good.

Strong start carries Knights goalie to milestone win
By Jim Parker, Windsor Star

WINDSOR – The score may have been a little more flattering for the Windsor Spitfires, who got an old-fashioned schooling form the London Knights on Thursday.
The Knights, who are ranked No. 4 in the Canadian Hockey League, dominated the young Spitfires for two periods in what turned into a 7-3 win for London before a crowd of 4,703 at the WFCU Centre.
“I think we have a lot of opportunity to grow and get better every game,” said Knights goalie Joseph Raaymakers, who earned his 21st win in 29 decisions this season. “I’m excited to see our team in upcoming weeks.”
It was also a milestone victory for the 20-year-old Raaymakers, who became the fifth goalie in modern Ontario Hockey League history to record 100 regular season wins.
“He’s been the backbone of our team,” Knights captain Evan Bouchard said of Raaymakers. “The team has a whole lot of confidence in him and, I think, coning home down the stretch, he’ll really show that.”

Wow.
Do whatever you have to do to find a bright spot for Windsor, I guess, if it makes you feel better.

Win in Windsor moves London Knights into tie for 1st overall in OHL

By Mike Stubbs Reporter 980 CFPL
The Ottawa 67’s have some company at the top.
They have been out in front of everyone in the Ontario Hockey League for the entire season, but a 7-3 victory by the Knights in Windsor on Thursday moved London right alongside Ottawa with 68 points.
The 67’s will say that one more win still gives them the edge — they have 32 and the Knights have 31 — but London will remind them that they still have a game in hand.
London built a 4-0 lead through two periods and then kept ahead of a push from the Spitfires through the final 20 minutes.
“I thought we started off really well,” said London associate general manager Rob Simpson.
“We got in our forecheck and we didn’t turn any pucks over in the neutral zone and when we got down below the top of the circles, I thought we cycled [the puck] well.”
Joseph Raaymakers made 23 saves and earned his 100th career victory in the OHL. He has split his wins between London and Sault Ste. Marie, where the Chatham native started his career.
Six London players recorded multiple point nights. Billy Moskal scored twice, including the last goal of the game into an empty net. Cole Tymkin had a goal and two assists. Kevin Hancock had a goal and one assist to move back into third place in league scoring. Evan Bouchard, Adam Boqvist and Alec Regula each had two assists. Regula has 31 points on the year.
Win in Windsor moves London Knights into tie for 1st overall in OHL standings

Not sure about that. Just as he is critical of posters not beating the drums after a W, he tends to shy away when they are losing and playing poorly.
And last night was as soft an effort as Ive seen in a Spits/Knights game regardless of standings.
Stranges lifting Douglas stick in low slot, taking the puck and sniping was a sign of Spits complete lack of compete. No way should he let a rookie out muscle him.

I expect a much better effort from Windsor tonight. As long as London matches the work ethic, theyll be fine

The douglas play was bad but that line was gassed and badly needed a whistle. Douglas couldn’t even keep 2 hands on his stick and tried to one hand it. You guys are a far superior passing and skating team compared to Windsor. I’m just hoping for better effort tonight. Plus our coaching has let us down also.

He would never say those things about the Soo. He calls them the bridesmaids never the bride. I think other than that it's pretty good. He's also said if they win great and if they lose no big deal so let's just to be honest and he's just a mouth piece for the organization.
