On Day 2 of the draft on Sportsnet, I noticed Mailloux shake hands in the Bell Centre stands with an OHL player who got drafted in the mid-to-late rounds from another OHL team (not London). I can't remember who it was. It wasn't a Hab draft pick.
I don't know about the handshake, but I was sitting a few rows away from him in the later rounds; he was cheering very loudly whenever one of his boys from the London Knights were selected (Jackson Edward and Landon Sim).

Probably his buddy Matt Maggio from the Windsor Spitfires who was picked by the Islanders (142nd). Logan played with him in Europe.

I honestly think a major failure in this whole situation that doesn’t get talked about is the lack of leadership from his teammates. You had a 17 year old kid alone in Europe trying to impress a bunch of adults. Not only did they not show any guidance, they made the situation worse by publicly sharing it embarrassing the girl publicly.
I thought he was playing with kids if his age. You should check out. He was not playing in their top two leagues for sure.

I heard that he was going to made available to the media at 1 pm today. Is that true, and if so, how can I see it?

Two wrongs dont make a right, but with all the horrible things we keep finding about and that have gone unpunished for so long i have to admit i feel for this kid. he was prosecuted by the court of public opinion for a way bigger crime then he committed.

I was thinking the same, some players from the 2018 world junior team that are guilty have probably been enjoying NHL success and glory all this while.

And probly in minor hockey. I think they were both from the same area but a year or 2 apart. Coulda been a player from TO area as well as he spent time there also.

That's pretty confirm Mailloux is going to have a contract with Habs... Suzuki and Anderson are popular on this team and he with them, so that's a pretty good sign and great news... Mailloux skillset is truly impressive.
They would not be allowing him to partake in public representation of the team if they didn't. Suzuki by the way, was back there yesterday shooting Fireball shots onstage with the Reklaws, and introduced Luke Bryan before his set.

I wonder if one of Mailloux's rules is to not have any social media accounts whatsoever. I see a Facebook one but there's not much activity there.

I'm sure he's been advised to stay away from it.

Probably better like this. He could get harrassed and it could turn into something stupid.
Harassed and it was a picture he shared on a team social media group that got him in trouble as well. No upside whatsoever to him being on public forums.

I hope he pans out. Him or Barron or our best hopes at a #1D man.

Who are you thinking of? Ghule is a beast, and will technically be our #1, but people don't consider the 25+ minute a night D-man as useful as the 20ish minute a night one that gets 10+ points more.
There's no clear indication of any of them being a number 1. I don't think any have been pegged as number one D, or even number 2. Hopefully they turn out to be, but don't be surprised if the Habs have to sign or trade for a top pair guy in the next couple years. Even the Habs top three Centremen were acquired via trade.
