Agree. Looks like Laval is a much better fit for him for several reasons. I mean, I can't see him learn anything playing with the Habs now.

He's not quite there yet, but you could see the tools and the potential in quite a few sequences IMO. He just needs more reps and coaching. He's still prone to getting very lost out there, he has a lot left to learn. Vincent might actually be better suited for that.

When he's ready, hopefully he get that heavy shot of his on net regularly. Especially from the slot, even if high slot and the top of the circles.
From what I've seen in Laval in recent games Hayes and Jacobs have been our best Defenders.
If we need to call someone up in the future I'd give one of these guys the nod if they continue to play well.

He's still only 21 and has time to improve defensively, but part of me wonders how he'd fare as a forward.
His shot is insane, he has good hands, size and can play physical. I feel like he has a lot of tools that would make him a very effective forward if the defensive side of his game doesn't improve.

Not surprising, but the amount of shit he takes is crazy on here. He was the only dman doing much of anything in the last game.

Don't entirely disagree, but it was a similar situation for Barron last season and he wasn't afforded the same leeway by some fans, despite showing a lot more.

Dunno pretty much the whole Oilers defense is in the + offense and + defense category. Looks like the quality of the offense impact those metrics a lot.

The only defensemen he outplayed was Struble, who was playing on his off-side.
He's rightfully roasted. He lacks awareness big time and is a defensive liability right now. It's fair to wonder what kind of role he'll carve for himself in the show. He isn't skilled enough to be a powerplay-leading offensive defensemen, and isn't smart enough to be a reliable defender. He needs time.
