Yeah.. No. This team has more talent then some of the teams that made the playoffs last year.

The team you are probably referring to is Phoenix, take away Kessel, I would disagree with you. That team played defence, defence, as I often said here, you can't blindly look at scoring stats, they have a bevy of team guys that play a 2 way game, unfortunately people only focus on offensive stats here, x amount of points means talent.

Too bad Ryan Murray had to get hurt, I really saw us giving Columbus and Edmonton a run for 30th this year. Edmonton has a promising young line up, they aren't good yet, but they are on the verge of not hogging the 1st pick anymore. Columbus actually has some life post Nash trade. I am actually quite stoked with our current top 6 and woeful defence and goaltending we have a shot at Seth Jones. and I only have to root tank for 3 months!

Seth Jones chant.

Every team not making the playoffs has a shot at Jones now.

So it is all about luck ... hmm Leafs and luck ... :shakehead

We have seen this franchise have ups and downs. With a shortened season, it's very possible for the Leafs to be near the very bottom, or with a comfy playoff spot. Can't wait for the season to begin.

I am all excited with the season slated to begin in less than 2 weeks and certain posters are already talking tanking? Jesus  If I see people cheering for the opposition in every game day thread this year, I don't know what I am going to do. It's ridiculous, as far as I am concerned.

We will see the new calculations with the new CBA, pretty sure the worst teams will still have the best shot. Luck aside, I still like our chances of landing one of the big 3. Haven't missed the Losing Leafs thus far this year, with 3+ months of tanking to go, this year has been a blessing to Leafs fans.

Ottawa, Florida, Phoenix all had something the Leafs are missing, and it's a big one. A Goaltender. Which just happens to be the most important position on playoff team. Their Defence are all better too.

I'll keep an eye on my #1 son. #2 son isn't into sports.

Sounds like my two boys. I brainwashed the oldest to be a Leaf fan but the youngest doesn't really care about hockey. Where did I go wrong?

It's funny guys. I've been a Caps and Leafs fan since 1982 and found my interest waning last year. After this crap, I have no drive/heart/motivation to watch any games this season.

I'm just going to follow box scores and standings on my tablet and your insights on this board since the majority of you guys will be watching the games.

I'm surprised how excited I am, actually. I was entirely apathetic through out the entirety of the lockout.

Expect Kulemin and Grabovski to have a good year after playing in the KHL.
