If that group believes 1 round win inn8 years is right there, then they all need to go.“Right there”, yea that was ok 3-4 years ago.
He'll definitely be back on a cheap deal after this one expires.Tavares EOS Interview:
- On believing in the core - we are right there. Losing in game 7 OT shows how small the difference is. Lots of things could be alot different, just 1 shot away. The way we've competed and grown and embracing this time of year against defensive or physical teams, with whatever's required, the team has shown growth. Need to overcome hurdles. THat's on us, and on myself.
- On extension - hasn't put much thought to it. Loves playing in Toronto. When I committed 6 years ago, saw tons of talent, and sees organization committed to winning.
- On the heat on Mitch - Mitchy provides so much on and off the ice. His energy and personality makes him someone we love being around. Plays in all situations. Remarkable playmaker, reads plays really well. Very valuable piece of the group.
- On how much growth he sees in Mitch - sees a lot of growth potential in everyone, himself included. Even in great years, always have to think about how to grow and get better. Have to keep getting better.
- On how the time in Toronto has changed John, and biggest challenges playing here - been an amazing 6 years, and doesn't take captaincy for granted. Loves starting a family here. Has helped keep him grounded, and never takes being a Maple Leaf for granted. That has come with age.
- On challenges - doesn't look at things as challenges, but amazing opportunities. Praises fans, and the belief they have in this team. Calls it an amazing opportunity. Overall, it's an incredible experience to play here as a Maple Leaf. When things are difficult, always have to reflect and look better, but have perspective on knowing that we are in a tremendous city and organization.
I hear Pelley's background has tons of hockey. He was at TSN long before Sportsnet. When it started, TSN was into extensive hockey highlights. Pelley was sure hockey was the most popular sports property in Canada and was part of the billion $ Rogers hockey deal. A Toronto guy, I would think he loves hockey and the Leafs. Will be interesting to see where his loyalties lie, either getting the Cup for the fans or cost-cuttung for MLSE. I believe he is good enough to accomplish either, whichever he wants. Why would the new CEO be more involved?
You think they believe that's acceptable? If that group believes 1 round win inn8 years is right there, then they all need to go.
Go ask MacKinnon or McDavid if that’s acceptable.
We don’t want guys that believe that.
Not that I'm his biggest fan; But I thought he turned down that offer, plus a deal for Hegel with Chicago.Dubas wanted to trade Knies in a package for Fleury lol
From what I remember it was Knies + 1st for Fleury + Hagel as the main part of the deal, vetoed by ShanahanNot that I'm his biggest fan; But I thought he turned down that offer, plus a deal for Hegel with Chicago.
But I could be off.
As Frustrating that Sammy can be on the ice he will always be pretty likable I think.
I'm not sure if I can watch some of this stuff, it's pretty emotional, I'm probably going to stick to seeing updates on Twitter
Sounds good, John.Tavares EOS Interview:

They are, and he doesn't mean in a pompous way; he really likes being a Leaf."We're looked upon as gods here to be honest" - Mitch Marner ladies and gentleman, get this guy the f*** out
As tone deaf as has ever worn the sweater."We're looked upon as gods here to be honest" - Mitch Marner ladies and gentleman, get this guy the f*** out
