Considering everything about this team we’ve seen i don’t think you have to worry about how the rangers approach it

Maybe they win, maybe they lose, but indont think they have any false confidence or sense of sitting back because it’s in the bag

Also I don’t really get the point of these posts. The rangers are a very good team. They won the presidents trophy, they swept through round one, they buckled down and took out Carolina before it got dire, they’re up 2-1 on Florida after gutting out two big wins

It’s a good team. Maybe they don’t go all the way but the constant putting down and shitting on them by their own fans is getting ridiculous.
The post you responded to wasn't constant putting down or shitting on them. There wasn't a single person who thinks yesterday's game was good. It was borderline a miracle on ice redux that they won that game.

Our D has been wildly overmatched in this series. I don't know if it's injury or just a really bad matchup. Fox seems to hobbling. Trouba and K'andre, ever since being put back together, have been awful. Schneider also looks overmatched. The only guys that have looked relatively decent are Gus and kinda Lindgren. Gus isn't surprising because he can actually move the puck quick and efficiently, which is what's needed against Florida.

The worst part about all this is we have two options sitting on the bench that are relatively decent puck movers. Having Jones and or Ruewedehl in for Trouba or even Rempe who, playing 4 minutes a night is useless, would be a likely benefit to the team overall.

Blind faith, irrespective of how far we've come, is not a substitute for reasonable, objectivity.

Now, do I hope and trust the coaches are looking at these things, they haven't given me a reason not to. The Rangers are a good team, but they have looked like the lesser team this series irrespective of the current series lead.

Anyone have the link to the Rodrigues missed chicken wing vid?

I feel like I'm going insane, different people watching the same video and coming to completely different conclusions.

Yes, it was a dangerous play by Trouba, but the vast majority of the contact was to the shoulder/back. I try to put on an objective hat and I cannot for the life of me see what the main boards does.

Onto Game 4 …

Lafreniere to pp 1 - it’s otherwise sabotage .

Goodrow has to move up - more ice.

KAM needs a stern conversation - he looks mentally unstable after a bad shift.

I might dress Z Jones and go 7- 11 to alleviate our besieged D men.

Kreider - Panarin - Zibenajad - it’s time to stop being fraudulent.
Panarin actually looks scared to play his game … his shots are limp wristed floaters.
Did Kulikov send a message from Putin?

By the way, we never got an explanation why the play was ruled dead on our breakout two on one shorthanded .

We also got jobbed big-time in the first period Three power plays to zero.

Officiating was eyebrow, raising to say the least and definitely gave credence to conspiracy theorists .

The comment by Larry Brooks that sits with me is that the Rangers looked extremely slow.

There’s no question that Zibanejad is not in great condition like he was before he had his kid in the off-season.
His jump is missing plus he may have simply lost a step.

Fresh legs are needed

Do we Goto a full trap ?

I get the philosophy, but it is a measure you look at long-term. Game to game, doesnt work. 1) I question the accuracy. After 1st period, they said it was 37-10 for Florida. Rangers had 8 SOG. Are they saying the Rangers only had 2 shot attempts that missed or were blocked? I find that hard to believe. 2) Saw the Panthers won the SA battle 94-35 (or something like that). If they attempted 94 shots, and only scored 4 goals, they may want to start attending shooting clinics. I know a place in NJ that has some really good instructors.
100% agree about the accuracy. It's a bogus stat for people to talk about. Carolina are the kings of that and where has it gotten them?

Nah, someone posted a video from earlier in the game where Rodrigues threw a chicken wing out at a Ranger (Wennberg?) and completely missed. I wanted to post it on the main board for posterity.

This series is still extremely losable and so while I appreciate the high spirits after such an unlikely win, I hope NYR staff and players don't rest on their proverbial laurels because there are a lot of adjustments and modifications that desire being made.

It's cool that they've gotten as far now as they did 2 years ago. But Florida is, on paper, the superior roster. We've got Shesty. I promise to never say anything bad about Igor again.

But our blueline is in shambles. Gustafsson has been our best defenseman this series, and while I appreciate him for that, this should never be the case.
Winnable or losable as terms should be out of the use since round too as both should be true simultaneously in a short sample such as playoff series. Too many variables that could come into play on a game by game basis as we’ve witnessed.

I’m probably going to say more than I should but…..

I really don’t want to discourage you guys from posting on the mains. Myself and a few other mods have been really busting our asses, trying to keep things civil and fun, but it’s impossible to please everyone.

I just try and be fair no matter which fan of a team you are. When things are civil and whatnot it’s fun to chat with other fan bases. Not everyone is a troll or there just to cause issues.

If you do have an issue that comes up with the main forums, PM me, I want to make sure everyone is being treated fairly.

But if you truly do F up, nothing I can do. lol

Do you guys think the shit ice coupled with constantly being surrounded are hampering Breads game? Maybe his style doesnt work with warmer weather ice? I dunno, just trying to figure it out.

Of course this series is losable. We are only half way there and Florida will be an extremely tough out but I would rather be up 2-1 at this point. I disagree that they have the better roster on paper. I think the teams are very evenly matched in talent. I also think Florida's D is overrated. They give up a lot of odd man rushes and get lost in their Dzone. 4 of the 5 Ranger goals were a direct result of very poor defensive play. Woof. Their isn't a team in this league that has more overall talent than the Rangers. Hence why they have won 65 games this year to date.

Bob didn’t have to make a lot of tough saves in game one IMO
he stayed within himself, stayed square, made the expected saves.
Since then the rangers have gotten better chances on him and have been picking some corners which he’s struggling with
It was a one-goal game so a lot or not is not as much of a factor. Allowing one on a single high danger chance could’ve been the difference. But Bobrovsky did make saves (or got lucky) when needed on all of these.

I love the whole “team is lucky they have a great goalie or they wouldn’t be winning” narrative. Okay. And Edmonton wouldn’t sniff the conference finals without Connor Mcdavid. And Florida wouldn’t be in the conference finals without one of Barkov/Reinhart/Tkachuk.

And just to add to that: Igor made some amazing saves last night, but it’s not like we won 1-0. We still had to come up with 5 goals to win that game including clutch goals from the bottom 6. He was great, but our secondary scoring won us that game IMO.
Completely agree. The only thing to take from this is that top goalies deserve to be paid as much as top skaters. Can a team will without $13m skater? Actually it can - there are many ways to construct SC contender.

I think their plan is to not let Panarin make a play. It seems like every time he has the puck there is somebody on him right away. I also think that the Rangers have enough depth to overcome Panarin, Mika, and Kreider being quiet. Laf, Goodrow, Trocheck, and Wennberg all came through yesterday.

For the “thoroughly outplayed” crowd. Just like the first 2 games it was completely evenly played until the 3rd when Florida threw the kitchen sink at us down 2. Rangers reset and looked like the fresher team in OT as they have all postseason. Difference in the game was Igor was clutch and Flopbrovsky choked

With stats like that why is this win treated differently than say game 2 against the Canes?
