List of objective mistakes Keefe could make in the playoffs (A priori, aka before) (speak now or forever hold your peace).

Every time I see this thread title I wonder where I can get a little of whatever OP was smoking when they wrote this.

Yo why are people worrying about Keefe playing Marner a lot? It’s hockey, run your horses. Players complain to their coaches if they’re not getting enough ice time; Marner is a competitor and wants to produce for the team. Blasting the coach for playing your superstar a lot is a half baked take. He’s 5 points off 100 lol, y’all are wild.

Or maybe we can swallow our pride and just admit that our superstar is also a bit weak relative to the rest of the league.

Instead of crying about that, you can mitigate him burning out like he does every playoffs. He's not 2 steps ahead of the play in the playoffs like he is in the regular season.

If we need to rest Marner in the last 1/4 of the season in order for him to be an absolute monster in the playoffs, you should do it.

There's no shame in Marner being the least athletic of the core group so long as we are smart about it. We are absolutely stupid about it for 3-4 years in a row.

*By rest I don't mean sit out

Knies is a must.
So is Woll.

Dont screw this up Keefe.

I'll be honest, I was skeptical of both until yesterday.

But Woll has done enough now to say he is an NHL quality goalie, full stop. And Knies has looked great for a rookie being thrown into the NHL with almost no prep/practice time.

I'm totally confidant in Woll as the backup, and would not flinch is he starts a game. And Knies has earned a roster spot, even if it's a 3rd line role.

I don't think Keefer can screw up round 1 vs Tampa unless VASI goes off da charts and pitches 4 zeros .. of course if that occurs than nothing any coach could do .. but even then Keefer knows how to make a Kreider accidentally on purpose happen from his younger days

I already trust Knies more than Bunting. And he has more skill than ZAR.

He should and will play.

Pro Tip Keefe:

Don't do your usual over the top ref complaining.

(1) it doesn't work.

(2) it probably hurts your team.

It really is that easy.
But I'll bet you cant do it.

If we have trouble scoring (we shouldn't) Knies better get a shot.

Last chance to beef about coaching moves.

Other than complaining with hindsight, which is always 20/20.

Keefe is a DUM DUM. Like I said before there's NO WAY Liljegren and Knies shouldn't be in there over some vets that don't move the needle much. Don't care if they're green and make mistakes, they can make a difference unlike guys like ZAR or Holl. Bring them in and give them the chance to gain experience because they're your future.

Nylander has the playoff toolset but puck isn't running through him in the playoffs as usual. Now he's even PP2 and it's clear Keefe has him as his no.5

Hate this coach.
