List of objective mistakes Keefe could make in the playoffs (A priori, aka before) (speak now or forever hold your peace).

Who knows if they are mistakes or not because we don't know if it would have changed the outcome but I stated on here that Holl would be back for Game One against FLA, I was wrong. He missed the first two, both losses.

Sometimes you have to accept that a guy had a bad series but was in the lineup for a 50 win season so he would surely rebound. His PK role alone makes him valuable and he is a defensive zone start expert.

Lafferty led the league in shorthanded goals at the time of acquisition and hasn't PKed for the Leafs, and instead we put more responsibility on ROR and Marner who are already playing a bunch at 5v5 and PP.

Yes you are right, these are all subjective mistakes being talked about. Objective mistakes he could make are losing a challenge and the opponent scoring on the ensuing powerplay or getting himself some other bench minor and getting scored on for it.

What's with the lack of Keefe news?

No dubas now. Can we safely assume this turd is flushed and the days of Justin Holl being a #3D are firmly in the rear view mirror?

This thread is hilarious because it was so easy to predict how Keefe would find a way to be outcoached again.

Force feeding the incompetent Justin Holl 20+ minutes a game when he’s been on the ice for 70% of the goals against was something so stupid that only Keefe could accomplish.

Justin Holl and Timid Liljegren on the ice together in a game ending, series ending, season ending OT loss was the perfect way for Keefe to close out his career in Toronto.

After game 2 against Tampa i wanted Woll in the net. Sammy made lots of 10 bell saves but never looked calm or comfortable in the net.
Imo if we stated Woll again Fla, the series would have gone further. Would we have won? :dunno: Bobrovsky is on fire. Also Fla stymied is with a simple flip play to the neutral zone. Keefe countered with backing of the defense, good but he wanted them to play the puck, I wanted them to play the man. Time it so every time a panther touched that puck, they get leveled. I gaurentee that would stop working.
Lots of us know Keefe is not good at match up's. His adjustments, which he actually tried some this go around, are also lacking.

Not lost on me is the fact that the last time the Leafs touched the puck with their stick, a hard D man broke up the play, set up the 3on 2, then went blocking downfield.

Woll, Knies and Holl were objective huge mistakes in the playoffs.

Keefe is part of the problem.

Tree will move on from Keefe when it’s convenient. His contract will not be renewed.

Keefe didn’t ice the best players in the playoffs.

Many predicted it.

It came true.

Many examples in this thread.

Holl, Woll, Knies.

This fanbase makes me laugh. Keefe is a great coach but you'd think he was awful. This fanbase has no idea what they have had the last several years. I suspect once Tre ruins the Leafs and hires another dinosaur who sucks ass maybe some will admit they were wrong.

the #1 goal in pk is to defend, not scoring goal so you dont use player whos better to score goal but the best guy to avoid it and marner is the best leafs foward in the defensive end... no reason to dont use him in pk sorry the same way bostin used bergeron marchand on pk or whatever

@HockeyVirus

Woll had 11 nhl game in NHL split in 2 season...

outside of gm 1 vs tb and gm 1-2 vs florida, keefe didn't any reason to remove Samsonov off the net

knies again a player with pratically no NHL experience, he started him on 3rd line and still go up in standings. not sure where the problem was...

Holl was 1 of dman who won the most 1v1 battle last year and was the best penalty killer of the team...

blaming a coach to do whats probably over 98% of coach would do at the same spot
