Player Discussion Linus Ullmark (G)

It's a risk. Word was Buffalo was unhappy with him not wanting to play a lot. Lets pray he can play a lot of games, and wants to play. His limited playoff numbers are yuuukkkkk
I hope he has decided its time to be the man
Are you even a Senators fan? Seriously, you've got a little over 40 posts and most of them are about Swayman. Everything I've seen about the Senators from you is negative. Maybe go find somewhere else to troll?

As advertized.

Looked like a guy who won the Vezina with 40 wins 2 years ago.

My fav part of his play is he's anti-korpisalo in that he looks very calm a la Carey Price. Effecient in his movements.

Florida tried to do some short side shots and rattle him early on in the game but my guy wasn't phased one bit. Terrific movement.

A goalie coach that was on Kyper and Bourne said it a couple days ago. I am not sure why he would lie. That being said what does saying "there is a risk" have to do with being a fan or not?

perhaps trying to tell people where or how to post is a you problem. Hostile, negative, all around off topic and stinkky

What a first game !! We can't expect him to play like that every night but this was an amazing performance ! Soooo nice to have a goalie you can trust, looking forward to many more good game from him. If he plays remotely close to this his 8.25m contract will be a bargain.

Completely different aura in net. You can tell he means business and takes his job seriously. I'm confident he will end as the best goalie tenure this franchise has ever had.

Nick Kypreos is not my go to for information about Linus Ullmark. In fact, he's not my go to for any information really. I find he bloviates a lot. But maybe you're from the generation who enjoys bloviating?

By the way, what's negative and stinky is shitting on a contract deal for a top end Vezina winning goaltender, by saying its a risk, when every single one of his contemporaries are being offered the same dollar, plus more term.

Is this the video that you're basing your opinion on? Seriously? Nick Kypreos doesn't believe Ullmark is a starter? Give me a freaken break. This guy is full of shit.

no thats not the video. and Kyp is just thinking what the goalie coach told him a day or two before. I do not care all that much I am just saying there is risk in any contract to any player/
But he has already gained the sens two points that they would not have got last year so that was fast.

great first game for him he looks solid and levels above our other goalies.

We don't win yesterday with forsberg in net.

If we make the playoffs this year, he's gonna be the reason.
I personally believe that Ullmark is motivated to perform here in Ottawa to show Boston they were wrong. I don't even think it's about money. I think he just wants to say to everyone in the league, I am a starter a-holes, now watch me perform. He's extremely competitive.

Ullmark is very technically sound, good from post to post, he didn't let any wrap arounds in as we have seen in the past or weak goals & most importantly he makes the save the team needs at the most important times in the game. This was a great acquisition.

I don't know the ins and outs of goalie, like at all, but I noticed Ullmark tends to stay on a knee when the puck is in the corner. I can't think of another goalie who does that consistently. Is that to conserve energy essentially?

That's not what you were saying, but this clears it up.

You see risk in all contracts, fair enough.

Ullmark looks extremely fast.

Even if he can't match the same levels he reached in Boston, he's gonna give us a really solid chance to win.

Biggest impact you can make is upgrading in net. It makes bad teams good and good teams great.

If the leafs made this move five years ago they'd have a couple more banners in their barn.

It's the locker room voice that I bet is awesome from him that's the huge added benefit. He seems like someone who will call out the team when they play badly in between periods - probably like Alfie in that regard, but also someone who will be a great teammate and continuously praise good work etc, while showing a great work ethic himself.

Crazy to think that nobody will ever wear #35 in a sens sweater ever again.
