Line Combos: Line Discussion Thread

Hags - Step - Nash
Clowe - Richards - Cally
?Dorsett? - Brassard - MZA
Pyatt/Asham - Boyle - Powe

Maybe? Who the **** knows.

EDIT: Just remembered Dorsett is hurt. Hm. Guess Pyatt is gonna stay in the lineup.

I'd love Cally on the 2nd line, but it's been abundantly clear for a year and a half now, him and Richards can't play together. Maybe with Zuke on the left side, it could work. Shockingly, Zuke made Richards look pretty good the other night.

You know, with a 3rd playmaking center with good vision, it would've actually made sense to keep Kreider up. Just saying.

Came here to say this. I feel like the biggest necessity for moving Gabby was that Kreider could somewhat fill that role. He hasn't looked bad to me since he's been up and we need a finisher for that Richards line. Kreider has been poorly managed this entire year.

Just hard to fit the pieces...but eventually I want this:

Nash-Stepan-Zucc
Kreider-Richards-Callahan
Hagelin-Brassard-Clowe (play RW?
Pyatt-Boyle-Asham

No guarantee Brassard or Moore will play tonight.

Nash-Stepan-Callahan
Hagelin/Clowe-Richards-Zuccarello
Hagelin/Clowe-Boyle-Pyatt
Gilroy?-Powe-Asham

Would've kept one of Miller/Kreider up just for tonight.

absolutely love stepan-richards-brassard-boyle down the middle

boyle is in his place on the 4th line, can win defensive zone faceoffs and has no offensive role what so ever, thats a win in my book

Pretty please. The fourth I dont care just put boyle there as a center with two whoevers

I like that. But that's what a good coach might do. We don't have one.

Liked what you had going, that's what I'd do for the fourth. Looks like at least for tonight we're going to see Miller up where Kreider is though.

yea basically what the guys above me said

We got a bit of a logjam.

IMO Lines

When everyone is here in a couple of days:
Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Clowe-Richards-Zucc
Powe/Pyatt-Brassard-Callahan
Asham-Boyle-Pyatt/Powe

Going in to the POs/next season:
Hagelin-Step-Nash
Clowe-Richards-Zucc
Miller-Brassard-Callahan
Kreider-Boyle-Dorsett
Fasth
Lindberg

On the outside/13F:
Pyatt
Asham
Powe

Were gonna have one of the most expensive 4th lines in the NHL with pyatt, boyle, dorsett

What can one really do in 3 minutes? If he was given half the free reign that Miller has been given then I think he would be an asset to the team at this point this year.

do you guys realize where we are in the standing?? so many clueless ****en people here!!! i feel you guys are like race horses with blinders on....

we're fighting for the playoffs.. this season suck bc of our poor play, torts is going to ride his big players.. we need to win and the only players doing anything out there is Nash, step, callahan and hags so torts will ride them to get scoring and win games or try.. what has miller and kreider done to warrant max playing time or play top 6.. wake up everyone please.. i love kreider want the kid to do amazing here.. i know torts shouldve maybe played him in different areas.. but if we're down 2-1 to Win a team were battling for playoffs we need our top offensive guys who play well to score and get us back in the game as well as keep the lead..They make mistakes and now isnt the time to make mistakes we need to win!!! its not hard to realize that is it?

but he never had the effort this season until he was recalled a week or so ago..give it time.. its a **** season anyway.. bet hes better next year and more consistent..

Give it to Sather. Torts wanted jam. He got his jam.

Now... can this team be a force on the forecheck? I think they can. If that happens the team will do well.

I really think Kreider needs to be brought back up and be allowed to play Top 6 minutes on the wing.

EDIT: how many times since 05-06 did we think bringing in skill was going to spark the offense? Gomez, Drury, Gaborik, Naslund, Zherdev, Richards... never was it enough offense. Who knows, maybe this is the answer for the type of team the Rangers are?

Our D with Moore and Staal looks nice.

Staal-Del Zotto
McDonagh-Girardi
Moore-Stralman

Easily a contender for best defense in the league. Especially if Moore becomes the two-way #3 defenseman he's projected to be.

Am I the only one that thinks our new roster resembles last years roster a ton now?

Its as if Sather noticed the problems with the Nash trade and restructured it to do it over again. In turn, were back with a similar roster and wasted a ton of draft picks in the process

Next year??

Something like this?

Asham is replaced by Haley
Pyatt is dealt in the offseason
Richards and Boyle need to rebound in a big way. Boyle is playing for his next contract...
McIllraith as a midseason callup to stay, likely replacing Strålman
Who is going to score???
Miller & Kreider?? Where do they fit in all of this?
This opens up lots of discussions and possibilities. And flaming discussions.
Does Sather have any idea what he is doing here???
Looks weird IMO

I have a feeling Torts will put Brassard on the wing but I hope its the below

Clowe, Stepan, Nash
Zuccarello, Richards, Callahan
