but seriously i wonder what will happen now with miller and kreider.. we added clowe and MZA to our line up now where will they fit..Both are def more establish and more effective at this point in their careers... Maybe another trade? bigger around gaborik? or Miller 3c and Kreider 4th line duties?
 
The more depth, the better, MZA and Clowe provide NHL ready depth just in case we are slow. Clowe can play spot minutes in the top 6. I would definitely try this and see where it goes:

Hagelin-Stepan-Nash
Clowe-Richards-Gaborik (looks like an awesome line)
MZA-Miller-Callahan
Kreider-Boyle-Pyatt/Asham/Powe

Not bad at all.
 
Earlier in the year we had pretty much just six guys who truly earned the chance to be a top six forward. Now we've now got 8 guys who belong there:
Nash, Gabby, Step, Richy, Cally, Zucc, Hags, and Clowe.

I'm not saying all these guys are first liners, or that it's absurd to see them on the third line, but all of these guys have shown that they aren't out of place as NHL top six forwards. That's huge, that's basically what we had last year with Dubi and Anisimov instead of Nash and Clowe. Having that flexibility should push guys and should give Torts more room to mix lines without having to push guys into roles they really probably aren't ready for.

I'm excited to see how this plays out.
 
Clowe probably won't play with Richie and Gabby - they need someone with speed who can recapture the puck on the forecheck. Expect Clowe to be on the 3rd line with Boyle, Hagelin...or whoever of these guys that remains with the team - Miller, Kreider, Pyatt.
 
I'm horribly confused as to why people are breaking up our two best lines after an 8pt effort and the best game the other line played all season...

Hagelin - Miller - Clowe
Krieder - Boyle - Asham

This. Sucks that we dont have a true third line center. Or even a faster 4th for that matter. Would open up endless possibilities with Kreider/Fast, and who knows, maybe we could even roll 4 very solid lines that all pack some offensive punch. (Yes, I realize our PK may take a hit but i think the potential for a good 4 line scoring lineup is worth it. Can Clowe PK?)

Doubt that will ever happen under torts though. Would also be much easier to do something like this if we had a big body/enforcer like McIlrath on the back end.

Clowe-Stepan-Nash (Step + Nash have been magic)
MZA-Richards-Gaborik (Line looked good last night)
Kreider-Miller-Callahan (Line looked real good earlier in the year, Cally can cover defensively)
Fast-Boyle-Hagelin (Some real good speed on the wings, good along the boards)

Giradi-McDonagh
Del Zotto-Stralman
Staal-Hamrlik (McIlrath next yr)
(Ignoring leftys and rightys for the moment)
 
pretty evident with Clowe in Kreider is going down. They really should get another F in and send Miller down too. Both have great futures but for the rest of this yr go with

Nash, Stepan, Callahan
Clowe, Richards, Gaborik
Hagelin, X, Zuccarello
Powe, X, Asham

replace Boyle and Pyatt tomorrow. Get some picks back and 1 F replacement

Does Adam Hall play C? He could be a cheap 4th line option and PKer

i agree with this. miller might go down too. i would prefer they keep pushing those guys, but i suspect the rangers will do anything to make the playoffs. even if it's not in their long-term interest. i really do wonder what slats has in mind for the offseason.

this is def how it will be to start at least for sure.. i like these lines, but i dont think we're done trading.. might do something else.. not sure what though..I honestly wish staal was ready to play, we need him badly!!! tired of seeing ham and stralman out there...

I was just going to post this, maybe switch Boyle with Miller. A line like Asham-Boyle-Clowe could suffice on the third line because they would probably dominate puck possession.

The more I think about this trade the more l like it.. Clowe fits the system. Now the depth looks pretty good. No excuse for Torts anymore.

Like this. Maybe sub in Pyatt or Asham and send down Kreider. Think Miller should stay and Boyle should be on the 4th line.

No way in hell should Miller be on our third line come the playoffs, especially at C.

I like this... spread the talent around. LW - Nash, Clowe, hags, RW - Cally, Gaborik, zucc, looks good to me.

I remember Zucc having a little chemistry with Boyle last year, and Hagelin can only help Boyle as well.

The best thing about this trade is now we can even discuss a third line. Our bottom 6 has been terribad.

i like this, i think the only weak point is the 3rd line center. send miller down and aquire a legit 3C and we are looking good imo. kreider on that 4th line is a waste, we should have kept him down. hags and zucc can switch, and what do you think about clowe and cally playing together on the 3rd line?
 
No doubt Clowe deepens this team significantly.

But I still think it will come down to Gabby and Richards waking up for the Rangers to do something. Maybe this move will take even more pressure off of them. Well see.

Unfortunately, I dont see Boyle going to 4th line. Your right about Kreider. If hes on the 4th line I would just rather see him in the minors. I see Miller on the 4th or in the minors after last game.
 
Send Kreids to the Whale, Torts has no trust in him yet.

Insert Asham to increase toughness.

For tomorrow if Hags is out,
