It will be very interesting to see the injury reports when the season ends. Copp is 100% playing much more hurt than is led to believe. You dont go from being one of our most effective forwards to whatever this version is with nothing significantly wrong.

Motte should be an absolute resign as well. Guy is our best 4th liner and its not even close. Really wish the would inject Hunt into the lineup for Rooney to give a little spark. Blais would be ideal but he missed far too much time.

These outcomes are kind of what I mean when I say, as a rebuttal to those who claim “anything can happen” and “look at Montreal last year”, that we just aren’t good enough and 5v5 teams this bad do not win Cups.

We have emptied the tank and it was a fun ride and we can debate whether the expenditures were worth it for the experience but at the end of the day this is why I did not want to go all in at this deadline. We have ridden this as far as it will go most likely.

Tampa is better than us and so is Colorado.

Underdogs rarely win Cups. You know who does? Tampa, again and again. Or Colorado, with overwhelming talent.

We still have some building to do. Gotta get lucky. Need Kravtsov and Othmann in here to hit, need Kakko, Chytil and Laf to keep developing into stars, need the young defensemen to graduate Hartford, and need another young center or two.

That being said I hope I’m wrong and they win 6 more games this year.

Much more exciting game than game 4.
Mistakes up and down the line up but we fought it out and the season has been that much fun I really can't be mad.
The fact that we've been able to hang around twice the defending champs for 4 out of the 5 games so far is very positive

Tampa is on the verge of being the first team in three straight finals since the 80's. They're one of the best to ever do it.

They're like four different teams and can switch like pressing a button. Tonight they became the Islanders and we've seen that mathcup before.

No, he wasn’t. Laf, who gets like 10 minutes of ice time a game, was our best player. He just also happened to have a terrible turnover leading to the ENG, so I’m sure Gallant staples him to the bench for the next millennium.

Panarin has been a f***ing ghost. Just because he was good tonight in comparison to the dogshit we’ve seen thus far, it means absolutely nothing.

I understand the team being gassed comment, but so is Tampa. Biggest difference to me is Tampa is staking their place on the ice. They are not sidestepping. They are going through our guys. Our team is still playing politely.

Watched McKinnon basically turn into an immovable object on game 4. Didn't care if knees were in his way. You move, cuz he won't.

Tampa has that attitude in spades. Our kids are beginning to learn, but I was hoping for that kind of asshole attitude from the vets. Outside of Trouba and Lindgren that, I own this spot on the ice, mentality is missing from this team. Igor even tried to do it by grabbing Kuch's stick in the final minutes, but your goalie shouldn't feel compelled to do the rough stuff.

Still believe in this time to pull off a miracle, but it is not looking good.

He did it routinely. He played deep in his net and had insane reflexes.

Igor is an excellent goalie. But the fact of the matter is that he has zero shutouts in the postseason. You need a couple of those to win it all. Tonight was the night we needed it.
