Looking forward to never seeing Ryan Strome ever again. His Game 5 open net tap in F up will forever be etched as a Charles Smith-caliber fail that would have forced a Game 7. Tonight, he had nothing to be give and his 8 minutes of garbage time annihilated our depth. Strome was Tampa’s MVP. It’s off to Ottawa for you, cherry picking bastard.

The Goodrow contract... 5 more years. The cap hit is not unsubstantial. Think maybe he can assume a spot in the leadership group in 22-23?

I saw one at 13. I’m 41 now. You still have time. Hopefully!
I was 4 when they won, so I don't remember it. My dad and brother took me to the parade, but again, can't remember shit. So I guess the best way to put it is I'll never see a cup I remember but I guess I"m lucky I was even alive for one.

Tip your hat to the Lightning. Great season by the Rangers.

Someone who usually seems to know told me that Kakko didn't play for disciplinary reasons. Must have been pretty serious. Gallant's reaction when questioned about it seemed like a confirmation of it.

Luckily we’ll get Blais back, no more Strome. Maybe a Kravtsov arrival, maybe Robertson/lundkvist/Jones. Maybe Othmann impresses and makes an impact

One more year of experience for chytil, Kakko, Laf, Miller, Schneider

We will be better next year, and that’s without making any real moves.

This sucks ass but we’re in better position for next year than the vast vast vast majority of the league

Give Fox the C
RED : Nah Fox is an amazing player , but only ones built to be able to handle wearing that C are LAF and Lindgren

There was a lot to like out of the young players and Zibanejad this postseason.

Scratching Kakko tonight and playing a one legged was ridiculously stupid. Drury should absolutely roast Gallant for that idiocy.

One important lesson I hope this group learns is that when you have a chance to beat a team, you step on their necks. These long series used to kill the last group, and ultimately ended this run.

Speaking of Drury, he has a lot of tough decisions this offseason. 2C is a top priority, what to do with Kakko, and managing the cap.

What to do with Kakko is not a tough decision. You make resigning him the top offseason priority.

Drury has not given me confidence that he knows how to build a long term winner though.

I just don't understand what the pro personnel guys saw in Trouba. Nothing we can do at this point. Last offseason was atrocious, but I guess Drury will get a pass because the pro personnel guys hit it at the trade deadline.
Big, Physical, booming shot. I will admit I was for acquiring him at the time, but honestly didn't realize he was so immobile and struggled under pressure. It's hard to watch him play defense when the other team is on the rush, he just gives up so much damn room and has a hard time pivoting if he is beat.

Team was gassed. You can't play 14 games (15, really) and then expect to cruise past the well rested back to back champs. That was the difference
thats BS pure and simple. this team doesn't have the enough players that can execute consistently in the top 6 and beyond. Defense still a weakness

Off season plan...

Priority 1...hire a damn skills coach, a skating coach & a competent player development staff.

Next, build a shut down checking line that can match up with the other teams best line, forecheck, & actually take the f***ing body.

Find a short term solution at 2C until the cap is no longer an issue.

Pray Kakko can grow some balls.

Whole lot of poor decisions by Gallant tonight. I'm not saying he should be fired after such a great season but that game did not instill confidence.

Please let Vatrano and Strome walk and be careful with the Copp contract. And for the love of god acquire/sign played who can actually play 5v5 hockey.

I'm also curious to see if Miller was hurt. He was dreadful tonight. Schneider was also pretty exposed all series but he's a rookie so whatever.

I'm not super upset I guess I just wanted this to go to 7 again.

Lots of pro podcast hipsters were clamoring for him for a while before we got him. Maybe they have an answer.

If this team can draft skilled forwards like they can draft goalies. It's pathetic how bad this team is at scouting and drafting offensive skilled talent.
