Copp Strome and Vatrano can go keep Motte and get a 2/3 C. Would love to move the 25 million we have in Kreider Panarin and trouba but nmc make that impossible. Sad thing is we should have a bright future but because of contracts I can’t see us winning a cup.

It is not often I disagree with you, but on this occasion I do. Game 3 was there to be won and if you don't against a team playing this type of shit brand hockey, then you are letting them back up off the mat with a chance to stifle you. Not to mention we are most probably up 3-2 if Strome makes a play any top 6 NHL player worth his salt is able to make.

Lets not pretend this mob are Gretzky and company.

Down 3-1 to Pittsburgh, everyone thought we were out of it. Down 2-0 and 3-2 to Carolina, everyone thought we were out of it. Hell, I thought we'd be lucky to win one game against the Canes after the way we lost Game 1. Then I thought we'd be lucky to win one game against Tampa. This team showed a lot of fight through the first 16 games of the playoffs, especially for such a young, inexperienced team. Unfortunately, from the moment we went up 2-0 in Game 3, we stopped playing and Tampa went into hunger mode. We had a chance to put the series away in Game 3 and we blew it. We had a chance to go up 3-2 and at least guarantee a Game 7 back on home ice in Game 5 and we blew it. Whether that's on us or just a sign of how good Tampa is, I don't know, but that's what makes it frustrating. Yes, we made it further than I or most people thought we would, but we were right there man. One less dumb penalty by Trouba in Game 3 and one puck into a wide open net from Ryan Strome in Game 5 and we're in the Stanley Cup Final (and maybe we're there if the refs call a fair series too, but that's besides the point).

Seriously though, great season, but looking forward Strome needs to be gone. If someone out there is willing to pay up for Trouba, I think you need to pull the trigger. Both of those guys let the team down in the biggest moments time and time again. And both have priced themselves out of NY anyway. Also needs to be some heat on Gallant for scratching Kakko, ESPECIALLY considering Strome was garbage and clearly not ready to play. You could tell there were several times he was massively out-coached throughout the playoffs.

Let's go Avs!

Love losing every goal review.

There is definitely some resentment in play from Dolan’s public call out.

I hope not. Doesn't help things. He knows he has to train and come back even better for the upcoming season

I hate the scratching and I think it calls into serious question the competency and fitness of the GM and coach moving forward but yeah I hope Kakko sucks it up and comes back even better next year.

I think it’s honestly very possible that there’s more to the Kakko business than people assume. I have long speculated, since he had gotten the least minutes of all the kids, even when they played well, that there is something the coaching staff is pointing out to him, showing him on tape and asking him to do/not do which he is either refusing or unwilling to do, that has lost him the favor and confidence of the coaches. We will see. The notion that Kakko playing leads to a different outcome in this game… it’s the same as the notion that him not playing in the previous 3 would have made a difference one way or the other. He was okay. He was ultimately a non factor (as were 95% of our forwards) most (not all) of the time. His draft position is really the only reason people defend him. If he was a third round pick people would be saying well we found our Fast replacement. Since he was #2OA it’s I hope he goes to the Finnish media and refuses to sign with this clown organization. The performance wouldn’t have changed; just the value and expectation associated with the draft pedigree.

It's because of the officiating.

They don't wanna "decide the games" so they decide the games by not having rules.

The Rangers need to get better at it. The only ones who really tried to cheat are Laf, Igor with his dives, and Trouba, although Trouba sucked at everything but hurting people.
Laf is a gamer.

He seems to know what it takes. His numbers may not be stellar but this guy is f***ing good

Good teams find a way. I thought we had that, but Tampa took us to school on that subject.

We just weren't good enough. Kudos to Tampa, I hope they get swept.

Stamkos is a world class talent and as clutch as they come. but honestly,... Shesty should have made those saves on him. A puck that was in his glove, and a forty foot wrister with no screen.,.... all can I say is,....

Where the hell is this ledge?

Hunt, Rooney and Strome really did a lot for us this game.

I am not delusional enough to think that we win this if Kakko is in but scratching him and thereby breaking up the kid line in favor of two complete humps who probably shouldn't even be on the roster and Strome who couldn't even skate or finish the game is an overwhelmingly terrible coaching decision.

Also, if Strome is back and forth this much all the way up to puck drop as to whether he can play where is the adult in the room within the Rangers organization to say "OK guys, this obviously isn't looking too reassuring, let's just do the smart (and safe) thing here and err towards him not playing tonight."

Just an absolutely brutal game to watch.
im guessing this is sarcasm, from what you wrote afterwards.

Terrible move by Gallant. Strome sucks. i'll stop watching this team if Drury resigns him.

Why did they sign Reeves if he can't play in these big games? TB was playing Maroon?

This game was a disaster. They pissed away this series. I hope Drury does what needs to be done.

id rather lose than win playing that boring bullshit hockey that Tampa plays. what an awful game to watch, i hope colorado shoves it up their asses
Don’t be ridiculous. I’d take the wins if we won every game 1-0 with 1 shot on goal every game.

Rangers definitely went further than expected and the last 5 games of the Carolina series plus the first two games vs Tampa was very enjoyable. Overall the season was ok I guess. Igor is an absolute beauty, the PP was the best the Rangers have ever had and the post TD run was exciting for the most part.

This team still has a ton of holes to fix, and too much money tied up in guys that frankly aren't worth it, mainly looking at Trouba, Goodrow, Reaves. Team speed and playing with pace is essential if they want to make it back and go even further. I was encouraged by Lafreniere for the most part and I hope that he is able to take the next step into stardom, it would make things much easier going forward.

I just don't understand what the pro personnel guys saw in Trouba. Nothing we can do at this point. Last offseason was atrocious, but I guess Drury will get a pass because the pro personnel guys hit it at the trade deadline.
