It was a great first step, most teams lose out the first round after a rebuild. I do think we need to move on from Copp, Strome, Rooney, Hunt, and obviously Nemeth. Filling those holes won't be easy. Chytil was a good surprise this playoffs as he played more physical than he had before. Kakko needs some skating help and some shooting help. Laf took a huge leap this playoffs. This whole run is gonna be what we look back at after our first cup and say that's where it started.

We need forwards who play their best when it matters most. Kinda like Steven Stamkos.
Maybe one of the kids develops into that kind of player.
That's how im feeling. I think Vatrano can play a little hard nosed than Copp and has a great shot
If the team tries to break out of the zone on Vatrano's side, 90% its staying in the zone. It's f***ing uncanny. I just feel like you can't win big games with guys like him.

And Louis Domingue? The fact that Raanta had such a high save % says more about us than it does about how great he is. There's a reason he's a career backup.
Think Raanta’s issues have been mostly injury’s not skill. I think we beat Carolina with Anderson in net as well. Pittsburgh is a different story. Raanta has a career save pct 5 points higher than Anderson and had a higher save pct in the playoffs than Anderson had during the year.

Raanta also had a higher save pct vs the Bruins than us. Vasy had a higher save pct vs the panthers than us as well. We tend to score at a better clip than our underlying numbers indicate. Think it’s all the extra cross ice passes we do in the o zone.

Maybe...but he reverted to playing like Panarin & Strome instead of driving play like he had been. Plus he sucks on critical face offs.
As it went on, Copp got softer and softer and away from when he first arrived.

RED : Nah Fox is an amazing player , but only ones built to be able to handle wearing that C are LAF and Lindgren
Agreed, but Lindgren won't be around long enough. Guys career is going to get Prucha'd at some point due to all the wear and tear he takes on a nightly basis. Give it to Laf and don't look back. Show your commitment.

It's because of the officiating.

They don't wanna "decide the games" so they decide the games by not having rules.

The Rangers need to get better at it. The only ones who really tried to cheat are Laf, Igor with his dives, and Trouba, although Trouba sucked at everything but hurting people.
It went so clearly this way mid way around game 3, Cooper got the ear of the refs

Incredibly frustrating

Tampa and Cooper are used to how to pull all the bullshit when the whistles disappear randomly

At the end of the day it really doesn’t seem like a hot power play can carry you through the playoffs as some asserted. Because they don’t call shit at critical times and we all know it.

thats BS pure and simple. this team doesn't have the enough players that can execute consistently in the top 6 and beyond. Defense still a weakness

We lost every foot race, every loose puck battle, and every board battle games 3-6. I promise you, we were gassed. Panarin was also just bad but that was the entire playoffs save for the game 7 goal against PIT

Braun was good. To me, he is the wrong guy to pick on. I don't think either would have survived this Tampa series.
I don't know, I was not impressed with him at all. Not terrible but produced 1 point in like 20 games, and it is not like he dominates in size and strength.

Ryan Strome may have done a ton of long term damage to this organization.

Kakko is probably getting an offer sheet from Buffalo.

Ok you guys are really too hyper focused on Strome, he had nothing to do with the final decision on the lineup

Tampa worked the refs hard this series. Harder than the pens or canes. That’s an experience skill on its own. We need to do that more

If you all thought Buch getting traded was bad, just wait for the kid line trades

Ehhh, I think playing Chytil on PP1 in place of Strome and starting Laf with Zibanejad this game signals Gallant has some level of faith in those two players. I could absolutely see Kakko getting traded though and the Rangers regretting it big time down the line.

Positives to come from this run:
1. K'Andre Miller is a legitimate first pair defenseman and might be one of the best in the league in a season or two.
2. Lafreniere is a skilled player with an edge who isn't afraid of big games.
3. Chytil is a skilled player with an edge who isn't afraid of big games.

Negatives to come from this run:
1. Kreider did nothing in this series.
2. Artemi Panarin did nothing in this series.
3. Probably many others I don't feel like thinking about right now.

Reeves as slow as he was brought some emotion. This team had nothing all game? They seemed to be able to get desperate in the last 4m tho? how does that work?

Why is Reeves here then?

Based on what? Rangers desperately needed guys who could maintain possession. Far better than Braun at that.
You really think he would've been ready for playoff heavy forechecking and also absorbing heavy hits? Your prerogative. Im not getting into anything with you, especially after your fellating of Panarin as a playoff performer.
