The team way exceeded my expectations going into the playoffs, especially after how Round 1 started. Making the playoffs was a goal that we reached and everything after that was gravy. The team showed a lot of growth, but I still am annoyed at blowing a 2-0 lead in Game 3 up 2-0 in the ECF.

With that said, I was real impressed by Chytil, Laf, and Miller especially in these playoffs and obviously Igor is Igor. Hopefully they can build on this experience going into next year.

No shame
Time to recognize Stamkos is a generational player .
Lotta decisions coming up .
Motte Copp Vatrano all UFA .
Up 2-0 up 2-0 game 3 and we lose is something that'll eat away at us for quite sometime .

Lastly - do not forget Jim Dolan - as big an asshole as he is ... got us here with a crazy overhaul .
He may push for something crazy again.

The last 4 goals against were all shit goals.
Very tough to accept

It’s true: 95% of us didn’t expect the team to get this far. But when you’re up 2-0 in the ECF with a 2 goal lead in game 3, suddenly expectations change. That is what makes this so hard to swallow. Had we gone into this series and gotten absolutely dominated at the outset, I maybe wouldn’t be so upset. But I won’t be able to shake the fact that they had it and let it slip away. I don’t think they would’ve beaten the Avs, but still. This one hurts.

Disappointed in the way the season ended. Not disappointed in this season, absolutely the most fun in years. Igor will win a Stanley Cup with the addition of a couple of players. All in all very happy with the run. They may have learned what it takes to be a champion. Bigger and better things for next season and beyond. Laf will be a star. Thank you Rangers for the most fun season in years.

Bitter.

Tough pill to swallow.

Toughest part is that you can't keep the team together. No second chance.

I think you gotta let all the UFAs walk.

Anyone who signs on wants term. You sign Copp to a 7 yr deal, you're losing a Miller or Laf to do it.

Frank the tank, Copper, Motts, Braunie, nice run boys. Unless you leave a shit ton of money on the table I don't see how you come back.

LGR.
Get them next year boys.

....oh sorry, forgot, fraud team. You are right! You will never see a cup.
Pitt literally had a third string goalie in who wasn't even in the NHL this year and was out of the league in years prior. He single handedly blew games for them. You can be delusional all you want and act like we "proved" we can beat them, sure, we did. But if we get the same matchups next year, they're very likely to have actual goalies in there for the entire series.

Listen that was much farther then ANY of us expected at the beginning of the season

With that being said it still hurts because at times we should have done better. I’m disappointed in a few players especially panarin and kreider. Those two were absolutely atrocious. I got a lot of flack for saying I still wish we had traded kreider. I’ve never seen him coast so much. Game after game in the playoffs he was non-existent. Panarin better be severely hurt because he was ass. Fox looked hurt. He could barely skate the whole series. I’m upset that the “kid line” wasn’t playing enough. Time after time they were the only line skating and still did not see a bump in ice time. Schneider looked like a little puppy out there at times. He needs way more seasoning.

All in all a great year. The team is way ahead of where we thought they were. But something is going to have to change because we can’t rely on Igor like we did with hank because while Igor is as good. We still can’t score 5 v 5.

Tampa was always going to be the better 5v5 team. We very much knew that is an area that needed to be improved for next year, and the deadline additions were just trying to do patchwork. Refs swallowed the whistles after game 2 and it changed everything.

Tampa 2nd most penalized team in the NHL in the regular season, averaged nearly 4.5 penalties per game.

Mantra used to be that you needed elite special teams to win in the postseason, but evidently that doesn't matter as much
