Gallant really mismanaged game 6. I can see why he doesn't win cups. Hopefully their are no long term ramifications with the kids.
What a joke. Gallant wasn't the one getting owned all series and pushed around like two big bullies playing keep away from some young kid. The Lightning were better when they needed to be. They were better at every phase of the game and they deserved to win.

They were better and that's why they won. Gallant had nothing to do with the Rangers losing.

Copp was exactly what this team needed until that Islanders piece of shit took out his legs after his hat trick. he was nearly useless after that.

He definitely wasn't the same guy last couple of months,

Not sure what to say about the Kakko info, but when I saw the lineup I thought wth is this kid doing off the ice or at practice to get himself thrown to the wayside, because he wasn't that bad.

We lost every foot race, every loose puck battle, and every board battle games 3-6. I promise you, we were gassed. Panarin was also just bad but that was the entire playoffs save for the game 7 goal against PIT
Proud of this team, they just ran out of gas.

They will need to learn to play with more urgency every single game. Letting the first two series get to 7 games drained the tank. Every game needs to be a must win mindset.

Alot of good things to unpack, but I liked Laffy's compete level and IMO KAM was one of the best defenseman in a series that had alot of really good defenseman.

Gallant doesn't deserve to lose his job, but he went out of his way to put his fingerprint all over this loss. Doing what he didnto Kakko tonight is very close to unforgiveable. He is the future of this club and Strome, Hunt or Rooney very much are not. Just really pissed off at this decision from him and if he pulls this crap next year, the leash needs to get short or cut loose all together.

I agree they were gassed, but I'm not sure the Canes series goes any less than 6. Outside of blowing the lead in the first game the other 2 losses weren't going to turn into wins. Other than that "lead" they had that was called back for offsides in Game 5 they looked pretty bad in Game 2 and that one. So lets say they win game 1 it might end in 6 instead of 7.

The extra games were def in the PIT series, because they got screwed out of that first game and didn't score in OT, then tied it up in Game 2, but completely got destroyed the next 2 games. If they win game 1 like they should have and split in PIT it could be over in 5. That series took way more out of them than it needed to.

If you want to pick a similarity it's that they should have went up in both series 1-0 and did not which might have made the series shorter if they did.

Then obv in this series they should have won game 3 and their chances of ending it in 5 would have been fairly high if they did.

This coach makes a horrible decision to play the guy that contributed to costing us the series and injured to boot and you dont want to talk about it FFFFFFFFF UUUUUUUUU Talk about this!!!!!
Not having Crappo didn't cost us the series lol what are you talking about?

I think it’s honestly very possible that there’s more to the Kakko business than people assume. I have long speculated, since he had gotten the least minutes of all the kids, even when they played well, that there is something the coaching staff is pointing out to him, showing him on tape and asking him to do/not do which he is either refusing or unwilling to do, that has lost him the favor and confidence of the coaches. We will see. The notion that Kakko playing leads to a different outcome in this game… it’s the same as the notion that him not playing in the previous 3 would have made a difference one way or the other. He was okay. He was ultimately a non factor (as were 95% of our forwards) most (not all) of the time. His draft position is really the only reason people defend him. If he was a third round pick people would be saying well we found our Fast replacement. Since he was #2OA it’s I hope he goes to the Finnish media and refuses to sign with this clown organization. The performance wouldn’t have changed; just the value and expectation associated with the draft pedigree.

Interesting. Possible. Maybe he's not very coachable. Tough to know.

I think he's a goner.

Kakko has completed three years of NHL service now though. He has yet to be a player who is genuinely worthy of a top six role. Maybe by virtue of our whole team not showing up, but not by virtue of his own performance relative to what should be expected from a top six talent
He's the best ranger forward at everything but scoring points. If you don't think that's worthy of a top Six spot I encourage you to look at our current roster, what they're good at, bad at, and it's results.

I'm asking this out of curiosity as to what exactly happened because ESPN doesn't explain anything: when the refs did that ten second review were they reviewing for goalie interference or just if the puck went in the net? Doesn't there have to be a challenge for them to check for goalie interference?

Who is trading anything of substance for Kakko? I mean that. We have people here thinking he might be the one to go for “center help”, but who is giving us a center that is actually good?

I am very much against a Kakko trade, mainly because the return will not be good. I am open to it in theory given the organizational depth chart, although ideally they’ll be working overtime to get out of Panarin’s contract this summer.

I don’t agree in the slightest.

He had a good trade deadline.

But his focus is all wrong. He needs to be continuing to add skilled youth to our forwards. Instead he doubled down on grinders.

Legit, his summer was horrendous, Nemeth for 3, Goodrow for 6, the Buch return, Jared Tinordi.

Very good deadline, which he deserves credit for.

He'll be the headliner in a package of prospects and draft picks.
