When you give up 50 shots, the refs weren't an issue. Some can never admit that their team lost a game because the other team deserved it.

I've never heard a single fan say the refs played a role in their team winning. Seems odd.
Doesn't make it any less frustrating seeing some of the reffing be so awful and influence tangible things on the scoreboard

This fanbase is insufferable when it comes to most things actually. Like people are jumping off the ledge because we lost a game against the cup champs at their place. Like we were going to sweep.

It’s not always if you lose a game, it’s HOW you lose.

I’ve felt nothing getting blown out by 7 goals in round 1 a couple times, but today with the chance to go up 3-0 in the series AND after taking a 2-0 lead in the game AND then go on to lose the game with 40 seconds left, I want to f***ing puke right now. I barely have a f***ing appetite to eat dinner.

Vally just explained why losing Strome hurt the PP

It's not about losing, it's about having a two goal lead and all the momentum, then one of your players dropping their stick, taking a penalty and never recovering from that stupidity. You had your foot on their throats, and you allowed them back up. This wasn't a back and forth game and Tampa just got one extra break and shit happens. This was entirely self inflicted, and I've watched enough of the New York Giants to know what happens next. Got to be much better.

I'm not saying that is what happened today, but when one of you're "most respected" refs gets caught on mic making up calls it's sadly not as farfetched as you're assuming it is.

It's not about being against the Rangers, it's more about getting as many playoff game$ a$ po$$ible for rea$on$.
Again, if you believe that it's even possible that the league may be trying to lengthen a series, you should never watch, because that would mean that it's all not legit, and it's no different than professional wrestling.

Also, if what you believe is true, certain people could be making billions betting on hockey, and I doubt that's happening.

My friend who is a huge Celtics fan wants to know in his terms what happened to the Rangers today.

Me: "imagine Tatum and Brown played all 48 minutes but they had also had Pritchard and Thies out there all 48 minutes for no reason and when they're all doubled over, we cut to Horford and Smart just looking sad on the bench."

They lost by 1 in the last minute of a game they were badly outplayed in, that’s not a sickening way to lose imo. It was closer than it had most right to be

It was a horrible game where we got outplayed severely and Tampa still had to send the house to win by 1. The doomsdaying in this thread is so goddamn annoying.

Before this series, Rangers fans were trying to study up druid magic to pray for wins and now people are gonna be outraged that we wont sweep the two time defending champs lol.

They looked tired all game. Where was the forecheck. Where was the intensity.
I agree with this. Games like this is part of the learning curve. Two great emotionally charged home wins, but then you need to be ready for a difficult road game recharged and fresh. This is where we failed. Even the kids looked tired to me.

Having said that, there were some players who were much worse than they should have been.
